Use of the SEALs to conduct the raid that killed Osama was tactically correct - a high risk mission into a third country that was our nominal ally, etc.
Use of the SEALs to conduct this raid was NOT tactically correct. The mission back ground called for a Ranger ground force. A difficult mission, yes, but at the same level as the Osama? “Not hardly Pilgrim!”
But then, I have only been around the SpecOp community since 1969 and have never had a headquarters tour to be properly infected.
I don’t have any Military experience, but something smelled bad about it all right from the get-go.
Thank you for your Service.
One of the fathers who spoke read from a document that indicated that the Taliban were given a heads up to be in that area on a given day and and time to take down the Seal Team that took down Osama. It was preplanned.
I’d be willing to bet that the 7 Afghans who were substituted were the Taliban back up. If the RPG missed, they were going to bring it down from inside.
How do the brass at the Pentagon live with themselves knowing about this.
