Was The Boston Lockdown Necessary?
The Shawangunk Journal ^ | May 9, 2013 | Norm Pattis, Trial Attorney

Posted on 05/09/2013 9:48:12 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Before leaping to the conclusion that lawmen in Boston worked a miracle last month by locking the city down as they searched for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, consider the following: It was only after folks were told they could leave their homes that a private citizen spotted a trail of blood that led to the young man's hiding place and capture.

This is important because Boston will now stand as a textbook case of what municipal police officers should do in an emergency. Close down businesses. Order people to stay in their homes. Keep folks off the streets. Search homes one by one at gunpoint.

"It was really creepy," a reporter who was in Watertown, Mass., during the search and lockdown told me. "It felt like the police wanted to do this to test their emergency response drills. It made me very uneasy. I called you to talk about it because I figured anyone else would accuse me of supporting terrorists."

Wow, I thought. Criminal defense lawyers rarely play priest to the press.

Although composed in words that do not change, the United States Constitution is written in language in broad terms. The Constitution's meaning changes depending on how we define its words. This is particularly clear in the area of our freedom to remain free from unreasonable searches and seizures.

The text of the Fourth Amendment is concise: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

But don't confuse concision with clarity.....

Hell, no!

Why didn’t police know everything then that we know now?

We know exactly who did it and why and how they did it. They must have known it back then all then too.

Obviously they all were in on it to have an excuse to lock-down those areas.

And the CIA was in on 9/11 too. And killing JFK.

Only tin foil hats will save us now.

The second comment at the source article lays out a nifty conspiracy theory. The older brother is still alive, having been placed naked but healthy in a police car. It was all a false flag, don’t ya know. The injured were military amputees and other actors. The CIA is practicing so they can establish martial law. Just you wait and see.

I thought that the actions of implementing martial law and calling it shelter in place and rescue was ridiculous. It was not necessary.

I have never seen a house to house search include aiming your gun at innoncent civilians who answered the door. The actions were more like the Gustapo or Storm Troopers from Star Wars than protect and serve policemen.

I was over the top. JMHO

I agree.
This was a obvious CIA setup just like in the movie The Siege 1998.

I just hope Oliver Stone exposes this one too. And exposes the same for 9/11 too.

Yeah it was. They didn’t want anybody shooting Speed Bump’s brother, T2 before they could “question” him or before some judge could sneak in and read T2 his Carmen Miranda rights.

The police can already get away with killing you in your home if you don’t allow the “emergency lock-down” search and seizure.

I had thought that soon after, at least one or two Bostonians would have come to their senses and we’d have heard a public outcry through the media for the lockdown & searches, i.e, martial law....but I’ve not heard a peep except on YouTube. Has anyone heard any complaints at all?

No grand conspiracy, just another case of security theater and social anaphylactic shock.

I know some people in that neighborhood and they tell me most people were scared to go out at night, but a few went out during the day, some even to work. They knew some of the the people you could see in the videos of the area as their neighbors and got a laugh out of seeing them drive by a FOX news reporter when they were supposedly on “lockdown”. The people I know said they were never forced to do anything, the police suggested they stay in their homes so they did. Some kids were scared, many glad to have a day off.

The primary purpose of the Boston lockdown was aggrandize government, not to catch the perp.

The alleged terrorist was found outside the "lockdown" zone by a private citizen. All the lockdown did was to shut down the economy, terrorize the citizens of Boston, and prepare them for more of the same to come. We must "learn" to give up some of our Constitutional rights in order to be "more safe."

I wonder if the same tactics by SS Troops in Germany really found all of the people of special interest that they were looking for during 1938-1945?
