Here is an email I received this morning from a dear friend who served our country, and who's son also served.
************

“I had the sad occurrence early this morning to listen to Bill and Karen Vaughn, parents of a Navy Seal killed along with 29 other American heroes after being blasted out of the skies over Afghanistan, as the grieving couple described events prior to their son’s loss and after the aircraft crash.

Karen Vaughn said she believes the U.S. disclosure that the Navy SEALS carried out the raid resulting in the death of Osama bin Laden put a target on the backs of the SEALS and that within 24 hours of VP Biden announcing that it was Navy SEALs who took out bin Laden, her son called with a fearful voice saying that she needed to immediately remove everything from their social media because there was “chatter” and all of their lives were in danger including his parents. By the White House actions a target was placed upon everyone’s back, serviceperson and family member and caused the deaths of 30 more heores.

I know the Vaughn's statement was true because my wife and I experienced similar worries during my own career at times in or with Special Operations units because it was paramount our completed, or planned, missions were not compromised. Especially in Special Operations and especially by idiots in our government seeking publicity. We served in secret and did a damn good job protecting America’s freedoms without having big mouthed comments from civilians in government.

These grieving parents, representing other parents of lost heroes on that flight, went on to describe how their son’s body and the bodies of other soldiers were “desecrated’’ in an Islamic ceremony at an American base. “At a ceremony at Bagram Air Force Base, the military allowed an imam to desecrate their bodies with an Islamic prayer that he helped pray their souls into hell and infidels and, in the end, said that the Muslims are the winners.,’’ Bill Vaughn said.

Vaughn added that he had no problem with imams themselves, only that they were allowed to officiate over the soldiers. “We know what imams do. What I have a problem with is, as [the] bodies lay there, their first amendment rights and freedom of religion were violated, not by the imam, by the American government,’’ he said. Also, he described in detail of why the mission that led to their son's death was not only botched, but that the NAVY seals had been targeted. In the interest of brevity here, you can Google this subject and read the entire story of failure from the President down through our military leadership to Bagram.

I am bothered by this for two reasons. First, when the security of our missions is compromised before the mission event - WE ARE GOING TO GET KILLED. To have members of our own government cause that injustice in order to seek personal gain is simply sickening.
Second, I serve our Lord Jesus Christ not some religious practice where I have no belief, nor wish to have belief, where a religion appears to condone atrocities by their members that we witness around the world day in and day out to military personnel, women and children of every race, creed, color, and national origin. To have someone from that belief desecrate my body and my service to this country because our government ordered such an event is in my mind an impeachable action for whomever was involved, whether military or civilian, at any level.

Our military is top down in disarray from poor leadership, governmental guidance making little sense, budget cuts will result in our ability to defend our freedom, and much more. Adding this incident’s insult is completely morale degrading and, more importantly, contributing to the failure of security for America’s citizens. Our military is there to serve us and it is our damn job to serve them. Not desecrating their heroism. Not causing their deaths. Not insulting their grieving families. Not being offensive to our religious beliefs.

I hope you will write Washington, to whomever you choose, and tell them to get their act together regarding our military personnel and that you do so in memory of America’s hero Aaron Carson Vaughn and the others lost in this tragic, unnecessary, event.

Karen Vaughn (Mom of a Navy Seal killed along with 29 other American heroes after being blasted out of the skies over Afghanistan) said she believes the U.S. disclosure that the Navy SEALS carried out the raid resulting in the death of Osama bin Laden put a target on the backs of the SEALS and that within 24 hours of VP Biden announcing that it was Navy SEALs who took out bin Laden, her son called with a fearful voice saying that she needed to immediately remove everything from their social media because there was “chatter” and all of their lives were in danger including his parents. By the White House actions a target was placed upon everyone’s back, serviceperson and family member and caused the deaths of 30 more heores [sic].

Only one problem: there is no removing anything from social media. Once it's there, it's there. Oh, you might remove it from public view, but you can't delete it. It's there forever.

For this reason, as well as others, Facebook, et al is evil.

The fact that the White House has done a lot to make the SEALS easy targets is even more evil.

“John” is absolutely correct, and as angry as it makes me that the bodies of the military can be desecrated, desecrating their souls is 10x, 100x, 1000x worse. The only consolation to me is that the words of that sub-human imam cannot separate those men from the love of God.

New Living Translation (©2007)
Romans 8:38-39
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love.

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
