Yesterday was a pretty unbelievable day. The hearing on Benghazi in the House Oversight and Reform committee was compelling and credible. If you didn't get the chance to see it, Greg Hicks' recount of what happened on the night of the attack was riveting, at times spellbinding.
Just to re-cap, here are some of the main things we learned from yesterday's hearing.
- The YouTube video was a non-event in Libya. It was never reported to anyone, even Hillary Clinton herself whom Hicks spoke to at 2am, that there was a protest involved. Perhaps the biggest question remains, who then came up with the YouTube narrative for the talking points and why?
- State Department official Beth Jones knew on September 12th the true nature of this attack, telling Libya's ambassador to Washington, The group that conducted the attacks, Ansar al-Sharia, is affiliated with Islamic terrorists.
- Multiple stand down orders were given, including one to highly trained personnel in Tripoli who were ready to board a plane and save their colleagues under siege in Benghazi. One of the biggest questions remains, who gave those stand down orders?
- Greg Hicks was basically told by the State Department not to speak to the Congressional delegation investigating Benghazi without a lawyer present. When a lawyer sent with the delegation was excluded from a meeting because he/she failed to meet the proper security clearance, Hillary Clinton's Chief of Staff, Cheryl Mills, called Hicks personally and was upset that her lawyer was not present in the meeting.

Americans deserve what they are getting and what is coming.
People can flame me if they like, but IMO the majority of Americans have earned what is coming.
It’s just a damn shame that the few of us who give a damn about our country will be sucked down the drain with all of them.
Mogadishu wouldn't have happened if a real President had been on watch. He would have ordered his commanders in the field to throw everything they had at that situation as soon as the calls for help began coming in.
The outcome would have been far different, and many Americans would have been spared. On top of that, Osama bin Laden wouldn't have become emboldened by that failure, and may have stayed in his cave. We might never have lost 3,000 innocent people on 9/11, had a real President been in charge at that time.
Democrat Presidents always get American service members killed because they're frozen with indecision and fear in these situations. They're spineless politicians who don't possess the warrior spirit, and should not ever be charged with the lives of our fighting people.
Wait a minute . . I haven’t heard any of the Republicans say they have scheduled further hearings. And Boehner needs to set up a Select Committee NOW.

I honestly don’t have the desire to go through your post point for point, but what I will address is your erroneous comment regarding ‘forgiveness’.
Tell me glee, where do you see any outrage over an American AMBASSADOR being killed? Since there is NONE, I would say the general population is beyond ‘forgiving’, they are deaf, dumb and blind.
When you get a chance to respond, let me know how many people you have spoken to about the death of Ambassador Stevens and the other 3 men? Do people even know who the heck you are talking about? Do they show a scant of outrage?
Forgiveness? I see dopey Americans ‘forgiving’ this fraud for mooslems slaughtering our brave men in Afganistan at a rate that far out paces our loses under Bush. Any outrage there? How about those who were killed at Ft. Hood? Any outrage there?
Oh wait, I know what won’t be forgiven no matter what! Can you guess? Give it a whirl.
Anyone know how much time Reagan had to plan and execute the Invasion of Grenada? SIX HOURS —for the whole invasion. And they used AAA maps, and stuff. And they had to do a rescue of American students at a medical school, there.
And they succeeded —no drones, and all intel provided strictly by telephones.
"No man left behind" is more than an Army Ranger credo it's the character of America.
That is a good question and here is the answer.
They had real-time onsite video, secured e-mail and were speaking with personnel at both compounds over at least two lines of radio transmission and cell phones. There were two drones overhead. All of that was live-streaming to the entire DoD-DC network of sit-rooms around the world including the White House.
IOWs they had more intel coming in real-time than most military actions taken in Afghanistan or Iraq had.
Good post piasa....informative to as some of that I wasn't aware of.
But you are right...and Zero knows those who will protect him and shore him up regardless...he's already seen many of his own disastrous blunders covered, right from the beginning so he has a great sense of stability regardless of what he does....or what happened at Bengazi...he knows no fear.
The Hildebeast sent Cheryl Mills, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's chief of staff (who Ohio Rep. Jordan referred to as Clinton's "fixer" while questioning Hicks), had attempted to monitor the meeting between Hicks and the delegation consisting of Rep. Jason Chaffetz. This was obvious intimidation tactics. Because Cheryl Mills did not have the proper security clearance, she was not let into the questioning. This allowed Hicks to get out to Congress the full story that the Obama Regime was trying to bottle up. Of significance during yesterday's (May 7th, 2013) hearing were other key revelations: Rep. Chaffetz asks whether the US government ever asked the Libyan government for overflight permission. Hicks responds that a drone was overhead and it had permission. No other requests for permission were asked for, but Hicks and Nordstrom say the Libyans would have granted such permission if it had been asked. This reveals the total inaction of the Obama Regime. Next, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) takes over the questioning. He asks Hicks about his conversation with Assistant Secretary of State Beth Jones regarding Rices statements. He says the conversation was curt, and that soon thereafter he started getting questioned about his management style. Gosar then plays Clintons What difference, at this point, does it make? video. He asks Hicks to respond to it. Hicks: "The Libyan president was insulted, and his credibility was reduced along with his ability to govern. He was angry even two weeks later. It negatively affected our ability to get the FBI to Benghazi quickly enough to investigate." This paints a picture of how Clinton and Rice statements served to obstruct the FBI investigation.

What scares me the most is they blamed a Coptic Christian for making a video that led to this protest. Is this the beginning of blaming Christians for the troubles in the world? Why hasn’t anyone mentioned this angle to this story. Our government is persecuting Christianity to save Islam.
Were the drones surveying the city or basically hovering around the compound. I have seen photos of the building and grounds, and it did not look very defensible to me. Try to find some on line and tell me what you think.
I’ve seen the film and a number of Americans were killed. Was it 16? It was also very grim and bloody and I looked real hard because my son is in Special Forces and currently in Afghanistan.
I was mistaken about one thing, it was a little more than 500 miles. I must have heard kilometers at one time.
Americans forgave President Reagan after over 200 were killed in Lebanon, without help from Obama. They didn’t even notice when 1/2 a dozen more were killed at the US Embassy in Kuwait later that year. Four to six troops were killed at one time when they went into a bunker trophy hunting and pulled the pin on a booby trap. This was Gulf War I and Bush I, and we never heard about that one either. Also, how the hexx did the CIA manage to loose the plans to the caves of Tora Bora which probably helped in the Bin Laden escape.
War is hexx, and my son is in it so I DO take note. I thought those jets were NATO, not American.
Did you notice the part in the hearings about the several budget reductions for Embassy security?
You are aware that the president in charge on 9/ll was Bush II, aren’t you? He had dismissed the specialist on terrorists shortly before if I remember correctly
I have been pretty darned outraged for quite a while that Bush forgot about Afghanistan to start a nasty unnecessary war in Iraq. And yes, casualties have increased in Afghanistan because we had to go back there in strength to finish the job. My son has been fighting there both in the Bush and Obama administrations. When he gets home I will ask his comparative opinion.
Why surrender before having begun? Surrender was not an option that night but out highest officials in our government said ... Let them die. This is not the America I grew up in, where our leaders quit before beginning.
