Tell me why you are hung up on the .380.

Thanks BG!
Got home really late, worked long then stopped by for allergy shots where they were extra s-l-o-w.

13.4 ounces, light recoil and very concealable. And I have pretty much every other caliber in semi autos.

A very good trusted friend, who is very analytical, and very frugal,
just settled on a springfield xds in .45 caliber.
They are supposed to be marketing a 9mm version this month.
I don’t know about you, but $1,400 is a whole lot of money to most folks.

That Sig P238 is a pretty sweet little gun. Very similar.
Kind of pricey, but I imagine the Kimber is too.

I didn’t mean to compare it to .22LR, I meant is the ammo that scarce. I did find some COR BON and Law MAX in stock at Cabelas.
.380 is a 9mm short, I don’t see how it could have more recoil than my Kimber Solo.

Sig Sauer P238, but from what I’m reading, the .380 is a junk caliber. I don’t know why, yet. Gotta keep reading thru some forums.

You’re mistaking Jason Collins, the Nets player who recently came out of the closet, with Jayson Williams, the former Nets player who shot and killed his limo driver with a shotgun at close range.

It’s 2 ounces heavier. Plus the Kimber is on a 1911 platform and will absorb recoil better methinks.

What made you decide on .380? Instead of 9mm, or a .45 acp with a light hp load?
A lot of disparaging the .380 on some of the 1911/Sig Sauer forums. “Junk caliber” is the most commonly-used term, but no one seems to explain *why*.
I’ve never owned or shot one, so I have no experience with it.

Oooops, you’re right; it was Collins. Thanks for the correction.

Controls are the same as a 1911. I would think the extra weight would help to tame the recoil, although .380 has very little in the first place. Kimber probably has an aluminum frame and the Sig is steel?
The SAS looks very similar to the Kimber as well.

It’s difficult to get both good penetration and expansion with any .380 cartridge. Especially if the person is wearing heavy clothing.

The other choice I had for her is a .327 magnum.

That’s a potent round (1,300 fps) in a six-shot revolver. Have you had her over to the range to try-out some various calibers and pistols/revolvers, yet? Or is this a surprise for her?

maybe if the state department would deal with what they are supposed to do - instead of fretting over web sites like that - maybe we'd have no more benghazis

Actually, it ranges from 1,300 to 1,800 fps, depending upon bullet weight/type.

Getting her to the range is like getting to a duck blind. Have heard the .327 is very light in recoil.

How can they do that unilaterally?
If Iran attacks Iraq is going to take us 20 hours to retaliate?
