As CBS 2s Dave Carlin reported, Jack Pawlowski was led out of his Queens home in handcuffs Wednesday, with his stunned wife and three young kids looking on. He said nothing as detectives put him into a squad car.
. . .
Pawlowski told CBS 2 he took a toy gun, and two of his kids, around the corner to Ditmars Park. It was around noon and packed with kids and their parents.
. . .
Another mom who was on a playground at the park at the time said she walked up to Pawlowski, and told him to take the toy gun and his kids and leave.
I dont tend to take things lying down, so I went past the parents, and so I walked straight over and I confronted him, said Leni Calas. I mean, hes brandishing a firearm and I dont care if that firearm is plastic. Thats unacceptable.
. . .
He remained in custody Wednesday evening, on charges of reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest, and possession of an illegal BB gun.

This case is about liberal nut jobs that inhabit large cities. However, the same liberal nut jobs will use the same warped logic against real guns.
What can a plastic pellet do to a 2 year olds eye?
From the two guns in question? It would sting... But you'd have to have it damn near point blank directly at the sclera to do any damage at all.
Like we keep trying to tell you, it's a toy.
Some of the much more expensive airsoft could conceivably do damage to something like an eye. The two you posted a photo of? Not so much...
Roger that. As much as I'd like to disagree, I can't.
Dunno if I'd call the cops, though. Probably a low key "Take care of this. Now, please." to the parent would have handled it, at least around where I live.
This is what New York law says:
It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or offer for sell, possess or use or attempt to use or give away, any toy or imitation firearm which **substantially duplicates or can reasonably be perceived to be an actual firearm** unless:
(a) the entire exterior surface of such toy or imitation firearm is colored white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink or bright purple, either singly or as the predominant color in combination with other colors in any pattern

So, it was illegal for him to own the gun in question.
Secondly, he was firing it in a crowded park. (see picture) He let his 3 year old shoot it. And gave it to his daughter who rode around the park on her bike pointing it at people. How does a child safely ride a bike holding a bb gun while pointing at other children?
Sorry. The guy is an idiot.
I would have taken away the gun and made the dad sit in a corner.
The original airsoft guns didn’t have the red tip.
They were added to reduce “suicide by cop” but that doesn’t seem to work.
>> “Did the guy have a 32oz soda on his person and was it loaded with some sort of carbonated soda?” <<
.
Yes, and not only that but the bottle was sawed off less than 18”!
Hey Alex, you’re some kind of statist nut!
Seriously, toy guns are good to play with for kids. This is exactly what is wrong; everything good is being persecuted, while everything destructive is being protected. (homosex)
The State law violates the Second Amendment. "Laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding" via Art 6 Para 2. Affirmed in Heller.
Aside from that... If you think either of those guns looks anything more than superficially like an actual firearm, you are a complete idiot.
Also, we only have the anti-gun a-holes word that anyone was pointing either of those airsoft guns at anyone.
Are you REALLY going to take their word for it absent real evidence? One quick snapped camera photo of the Dad shooting at a tree isn't enough.
If so, you have nothing further to add to this discussion.
If this guy had a legal bb gun and was using it safely and legally in this back yard with his son, I would be with you on this.
But this was not the case. People like him give law abiding gun owners a bad name.
Give it a rest newbie.
I didn’t know the witnesses were anti gun. Where did you read that? Is it even true?
Sorry Alex, you’re the idiot!
Children have been making and playing with toy guns since guns were invented. Do you not realize that there is a basic right to have toys that at least look real?
You’d surrender the whole oyster.
Gosh!!!!
They actually showed a toy gun in public - Wow!
Forgive me, you are right, give him the death penalty immediately.
Dude... Really?
That one mothers perfect flower is allergic to shellfish. If she even smells an oyster on you, she’ll call the cops.
I smell a dead carp on her!
Alex is a plant from Ubunga.
Wrong City, I know... But it was either that or a Massengill joke.
Either we're attracting a better class of trolls, or this guy just really isn't up to speed on real RKBA freedom. Willing to give benefit of doubt for now...
We all start somewhere and I've been wrong, and corrected here, more than once.
