Tim Tebow blackballed by NFL teams because of...

Nine days after Tebow was released by the New York Jets, it has become increasingly clear that the ultra-popular quarterback who has hijacked many a news cycle has no viable landing spot. No NFL team seems to want him — as a starter, backup, converted H-back or fake-punt decoy — and it's not like he's fending off big-money offers from Canada, either. Now, here's the interesting part: Tebowmania is at least partly to blame.

That's true but I'm not referring to the NFL. This is about the media making Christianity unacceptable in society.

Yeah thats a common trait with Heisman trophy winners.

A lot of Heisman winners are NFL busts. Most QB's since 1989. College success doesn't mean pro success

1989 - Andre Ware - Don't even ask (Lions)
1990 - Ty Detmer - Not really a bust, but a career backup.
1992 - Gino Torretta - Bust
1993 - Charlie Ward - NBA player
1996 - Danny Wuerffel - Bust
2000 - Chris Weinke - Bust
2001 - Eric Crouch - Switched positions and retired.
2002 - Carson Palmer - The best of the group - and hardly a star
2003 - Jason White - Injuries
2004 Matt Leinart - Bust
2006 Troy Smith - Bust
2007 Tim Tebow - possible bust
2008 Sam Bradford - up and down career so far
2010 Cam Newton - Too early to tell, but some success
2011 Robert Griffin III - Too early to tell, so far good
2012 Johnny Manziel - Too be determined.

Because he's being too stubborn for his own good, refusing to switch over to halfback or tight end like numerous teams have asked him to do.

Tebow has fought to play QB since his pee wee days. He went to the worst team in his county so he could play QB in high school. They won the state championship his senior year.

He had a winning record in Denver including a big playoff win. A recent Forbes poll found him the most influential person in sports and that's why he wants to play QB. He's not doing this for himself or because he's stubborn. He could be making a lot more money in baseball with a lot less grief.

The Tim Tebow situation reminds me a little bit of Doug Flutie. He was also a Heisman trophy winner who was never given a real chance in the NFL because he was "too short." However, he went up to Canada and rewrote the record books up there.

During his short stints in the NFL, he always performed well on the field but often rode the bench and just never got the opportunity he deserved.

So, he could not unseat Greg McElroy as the backup let alone Sanchez as the starter, yet he is going to challenge Brady??

If he went to the Vikings, the anti-Christian types in the media would be writing comedy skits: cue Christian Ponder.

Perfect place for Tebow would be Saskatchewan....I mean nothing ever happens in Saskatchewan, it would be the biggest thing to hit that Province since..........

Call me crazy but I have a feeling ... Might even give Tom Brady a run for his money.
You're crazy ... try thinking, not "feeling."

Tim has refused to play any other position than QB. How stupid is that? I think he’d make a good slot receiver - he does have size and the ability to make the first guy miss.

He’s reaping what he sowed. There’s lots of Christian pro athletes, but they don’t make a show of it.

I believe that if you don’t deny the Lord when it would be convenient to do so,or in your words “make a show of it” that you do indeed “reap what you sow.”

No doubt this young man will reap what the Lord has in mind for his life and soul. It will be greater than anything the NFL has to offer.

Thanks. I got it from Reagan and slightly modified it for our current situation.

the ultra-popular quarterback who has hijacked many a news cycle has no viable landing spot.

Only about 1.7% of college football players go pro. Regardless of how popular, or their success in college, it is exponentially difficult to progress to the next level.

Yes, God forbid pro football become any less brutal while still retaining the basic game! Have to have those bone crunching plays for the public!
And no, I don’t believe it is the governments job to make football safer, it is the NFL that should be decent enough to do it.

Lots of pro athletes do charitable causes without shows.

I am a Pats fan. That brings with it the usual Brady/belicheck hating...which I understand.

But what I like about them is that there is less showboating and chest pounding. They are workmanlike in their process.

The same with the Celtics. They have always been about “team”, which was evident this year without Rondo.

Most teams in Pro Sports are full of good athletes, but idiots.

Tebow might work with New England. As long as he wins, people will love him.

God may have an alternate plan for Tim Tebow’s life that is far more interesting and influential than enduring the bigotry of the bloating corporate corpse that is today’s NFL. When the government begins making the rules regarding player safely, the days of the NFL are numbered.

I agree. Tim Tebow's treasures in Heaven will far out weigh any Super Bowl rings gathered on Earth.
