Tim Tebow blackballed by NFL teams because of...

Nine days after Tebow was released by the New York Jets, it has become increasingly clear that the ultra-popular quarterback who has hijacked many a news cycle has no viable landing spot. No NFL team seems to want him — as a starter, backup, converted H-back or fake-punt decoy — and it's not like he's fending off big-money offers from Canada, either. Now, here's the interesting part: Tebowmania is at least partly to blame.

But why shouldn’t he showy with it ?

I’m not a Christian (I’m Jewish), but I find Tebow’s expressions of faith absolutely inspiring. He knows he’s going to get hammered by the atheists in our “media”, but he preaches the Word without hesitation.

If Tebow never plays another down in the NFL, he’ll go down as one of my all-time favorite players

The NFL is only looking to recruit homosexuals these days. Homosexuals are very popular in this country right now.

NFL teams don't like distractions. There are 31 General Managers and 31 Head Coaches who pray ever night before bed that the first football player that "comes out" isn't on their team. I can't speak for the Jets ... they love drama.

Horse pucky! Tim may be a fine person, but he’s a lousy NFL quarterback. Period.

Brady disappeared from the starting lineup? I must have been having a dream where I kept seeing him on the Pats, year after year after year...

I’m sure someone said a very similar thing about Brett Favre early in his NFL career.

Ever heard of Drew Bledsoe. He was a multi year starter for the pats. He got hurt one day, and barely drafted kid came onto the field. Drew never played in New England again.

“Well the same team went 1 - 6 until he took over.”

1-4

“Don’t let your hate make you blind.”

I don’t hate Tebow. I think he’s a great guy and I owuld love for him to be a successful NFL QB. He did some good things, and he really had a different skill set, but he just didn’t throw well enough to win long-term. He didn’t beat any good teams. They were outscored by 42 in the games he did start - the 3 losses were blowouts, while the 6 of the 7 wins were by a touchdown or less. (Three were in OT.)

I also don’t think he can stay healthy while playing QB like a fullback. He will absolutely have to throw better to be a starter, except on a team with no good options (like the 2011 Broncos.) (The 2012 Jets were at that point too, but didn’t recognize it.)

I’m not discounting the possibility of him improving as a passer. Testaverde thinks he is well along in the process. If I was an NFL team GM with no good options at QB, I would sign Tebow as a back-up. I’m not sure what Jacksonville’s problem is, other than maybe the old reginme thought they might want him so the new regime feels obligated to disavow any thought the old regime ever had. Tebow never looked as bad as Gabbert, although their OL might be able to change that.

Not that I'm aware of.

Christianity is his religion, pro football is his chosen profession. He loves both. If he hadn’t mixed the two, he would probably still be doing both.

Why should his Christianity matter ? I’d much rather see a guy thank the Almighty than do the Harlem Shake after a TD.

Ok, I do know why it matters, but I find it annoying that it does. I’m Jewish, but I fully realize that America was founded on Christian values.

I’d rather not see either. Let them pray and celebrate after the game.

You're on crack.

Just call me correct. I knew over a month ago that Tebow would go to New England...

You're crazy ... try thinking, not "feeling."

I felt correctly earlier this year. Tebow to New England. Bill Belichick is the greatest genius in the history of professional football.

Okay, you're crazy.

I might be crazy but I'm right. Tim Tebow belongs to the New England Patriots.

That source was wrong and I was right. Tim Tebow, now a New England Patriot.

I agree with the first part of that Sam. The second part? Well, that’s just silly.

Well go back to 2001 when unknown Tom Brady stepped in for an injured Drew Bledsoe. If I had postulated then that Tom Brady would win the job and keep Bledsoe from starting another game as New England QB, I would have been met with howls of derision. If I had dared suggested that Tom Brady would lead New England to five Super Bowls over the next 11 years, I would have been accused of consuming illegal substances of a chemical nature.

This could be the road that takes Tim Tebow to the Hall of Fame and he could rack up another several Super Bowl wins for the greatest football coach in the history of the NFL - Bill Belichick.

I knew it! :) Happy for Tebow. He’s in the right place with the right coaches. Screw you Rex Ryan!
