Oh my goodness! That looks enough like my son that I just sent the pic to him and asked him. Joshua 1:9 is his life verse, too.

You can see part of his name on the back of his helmet. It’s begins with the letters “OL”.

Talking about sons named Joshua. My son Joshua was one of the first American soldiers into Iraq on 3/20/03. His unit was on the Kuwait-Iraq border waiting for jumping off orders when he decided to step a couple feet over the border just to say he was there at the beginning.

Then he and others of his engineering unit went in with Kuwaiti engineers (who were filling in anti-tank ditches and plowing through defensive sand dunes to make way for our armor units).

My Josh and his team planted glow sticks for the armor to follow in the first minutes of the attack (after Iraqi watchtowers were destroyed by the air force). Then he got into his 15 ton truck, loaded with bridging equipment, three Beany Baby figures - an American Eagle, a beagle with a Jewish kippah, and one other item, an M16 over/under, and his M249 SAW. Then it was off to the war, travelling over 750 miles to Balad AF base after building the first ribbon (pontoon) bridge in combat, going through the sandstorm of the century (blood red),combat patrols, taking prisoners, killing terrorists, and finding enemy arms caches.

My son, a good Jewish boy, was, ironically, helping to liberate 25 million Moslems (and some Christians), as well as returning to our biblical starting places of Babylon and Ur.

Looks like we picked the right names for our sons, and they have done us proud.

Hoorah!
