Mark Sanford Wins

A special good morning to my liberal friends who thought they might win in SC-01, but lost. Now, I know you are in high dudgeons today about the GOP and family values and Mark Sanford. But let's just start with a reality check — Mark Sanford may have cheated on his wife, but your hero Teddy Kennedy killed a lady. Good morning!

Mark Sanford has won the special election in South Carolina’s first congressional district.

He was abandoned by much of the South Carolina congressional delegation.

He was abandoned by the NRCC and its fundraising.

The Democrats outspent him by more than a 3 to 1 advantage.

But the district favored him to begin with. Despite panic a few weeks ago, he recovered rapidly and closed a ten point gap.

I was with Mark Sanford in the beginning despite unmitigated hell from lots of Republicans who were outraged by my supporting him. As I said then, he was the most risky candidate, but potentially the greatest reward in how he’d vote in Congress.

I am glad the voters of South Carolina chose to give him a second chance. Mark Sanford wins again. I guess the Democrats will blame Busch.

Already they claim the GOP, as the party of “family values”, is hypocritical for voting for Mark Sanford. The party of Bill Clinton and Kermit Gosnell could, of course, never be accused of supporting family values. More over, many of the very same Democrats claiming Sanford’s win is a loss for women will be out next year opposing Nikki Haley’s re-election.

The fact is neither side should read more into this election that there was. Elizabeth Colbert-Busch was a terrible candidate, horrible at retail politics. Mark Sanford thrives on retail politics. Lastly, and most importantly, the district was drawn to be a Republican district, though had Colbert-Busch been a better retail politician, she would have done much better.

On election day, Sanford had ten events in addition to voting. Elizabeth Colbert-Busch voted and disappeared.

Honestly, in a nut shell, despite what you may hear in the media, there are still places in America that hate liberals and would rather a deeply flawed Mark Sanford than an elitist liberal.

Sanford's lies and love life showed a serious character flaw, but Colbert-Busch's only claim to fame was that she is the sister of a ridiculous, leftist jester. Democrats can hardly harp about family values since killing babies, embracing homosexuals and lesbians, and following the evil Obama regime on the path to hell is their forte.

Sanford is by far the lesser evil, almost anyone is better than the Pelosi clone.

“there are still places in America that hate liberals and would rather a deeply flawed Mark Sanford than an elitist liberal.”

That’s worth repeating. My understanding is that Obama lost this district by 20 points last November. The democrats were very foolish to waste money on this race.

Why do we always end up having to vote for the lesser of two evils?... It’s really sad

Adultery is a plus in the resumes of Democrats, but Republicans have in the past been quick to throw their politicians under the bus when there was an incident such as Sanford’s adultery.

Maybe the GOP is finally figuring out that Jesus was the only sinless person....and He was crucified by his opposition.

The funny thing was that it was a blowout. Talk about delusion from national pundits and pollsters. They actually had me believing this would be close, and I live and breathe politics. I usually see right through the spin, although being burned by Obama’s surprising solid win, I fell for it. I am now firmly back in the camp of buying nothing from the lib spin machine.

They hypocritical Democrat Party...

Lies and hypocrisy are two of the fundamental values of the Democratic party (and unfortunately play a big role in the republican party as well)

Oh really? Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, David Vitter and as host of others didn't stay there for long if, in fact, they ever got tossed there to begin with. Both parties are filled with leaders who have a problem keeping their pants on. And at the end of the day character doesn't matter for either party. Winning does.

The story isn’t that Sanford beat Colbert. It’s that he won the Republican primary. Were his competitors child molesters, murderers, and on welfare? He represents the best that South Carolina has to give?

RE :”Why do we always end up having to vote for the lesser of two evils?... It’s really sad”

...versus voting for the worst (most evil) of the two evils?
But no one ever wants to admit they did that.

The fewer number of Republicans Bohner has to oppose stuff the more likely he is to just put it up for Dems to pass it to Obama. Lets see how Sanford votes on guns and amnesty and very important the internet tax

Those are sure more important to me than his legal personal adventures and he claimed redemption.

Went over to DU to check out their response, quite funny the screams of adulterer were in almost every post. Just like they were with Bill and Monica. Wait a minute they defended that adulterer.

How easy it is to have a cup of coffee and spew hatred in the morning! At least read the news and get your facts straight!
