The world became a less adventurous place today. Thank you Mr. Harryhausen for all the popcorn I ate as a yute, and all the pleasure I’ve had watching your re-runs on TV ever since.

Seeing “The 7th Voyage of Sinbad” at my little, atmospheric 1940s-vintage neighborhood theater (before it was closed down and demolished) remains a very pleasant childhood memory of mine.

OOOOOHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! MY HERO!! I have every single frigging movie available. I used to watch his movies on my super 8 projector in the early 1970s. “Valley of Gwangi”& “The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad” at least once every two weeks now for me. This news makes me very sad, although Mr. Harryhausen was in his 90s. R.I.P SIR!!

Trivia question, which Pixar movie paid tribute to Harryhausen, and how did they do it?

It was the only movie Ray made with one central character. I have it on DVD and Colorized blu-ray. Great effects for 1957. I remember seeing “One Million Years BC” when it came out in 1966. I begged my dad to take me and he finally relented. The Allosaurus scene is the best!

Thank you, Mr. Harryhausen, for sharing your gift. I spent many a Saturday night watching your movies on one late night theatre after another. I’ll have to watch some of your classics today. RIP.
