Terrorist Watch List of Tiny Minority of Extremists Approaching 1 Million
Posted By Daniel Greenfield On May 5, 2013 @ 4:55 pm In The Point | 4 Comments
In fact the tiny minority of extremists is so great that law enforcement officials are having trouble finding names in the tiny 875,000 names on the list.
The number of names on a highly classified U.S. central database used to track suspected terrorists has jumped to 875,000 from 540,000 only five years ago, a U.S. official familiar with the matter said.
Among those was suspected Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, whose name was added in 2011. The increase in names is due in part to security agencies using the system more in the wake of the failed 2009 attack on a plane by “underpants bomber” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab in Detroit.
Intelligence and law enforcement officials acknowledged in Congress that they had missed clues to that attack despite Abdulmutallab’s name appearing in the main database, known as TIDE.
U.S. officials now acknowledge that Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s name was entered into TIDE by the CIA in the autumn of 2011, after the U.S. spy agency received a request from Russian authorities to investigate him for suspected radical Islamist activities.
The CIA also entered the name of Tsarnaev’s mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva’s, into the TIDE database. Tamerlan Tsarnaev died in a shootout with authorities in the days following the Boston bombing and his younger brother Dzhokhar was captured by police.
And worse still, this isn’t anything like a comprehensive list. These are just the names that came up and were entered into it. The actual list would be vastly larger than a mere 875,000 names.
But even 875,000 names is the equivalent of an army. The United States Army only has 561,437 active duty personnel.
It’s time for the Democrats and their leftist allies to stop pretending that this is a criminal issue, when it’s actually a war.
875,000 names is not a gang. It is not a guerrilla force. It’s not a few men in a cave somewhere. It’s an army and should be treated like one.
Everyone of them that swears allegiance to a foreign power must be deported.
“Stupid and Inefficient” is being kind.
I will go all the way to saying they are in collusion with the terrorists and are EVIL.
But that’s just me.
Fewer than 5 percent of the TIDE entries were U.S. citizens or legal residents, according to a description of the database on the NCTC website. See article at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3011876/posts
5% is less than 45,000. Boston metropolitan area is less than about 1-1/2% of the US population, which would equate to less than 650 on the list known as being in the Boston area. The big question is why they didnt look at the people on the list in the area as a starting point - or did the politically correct rules in place prevent them from looking for people thought by someone to be tied to terrorist - if they were in Zeros protected group(s). How they couldnt have matched his pictures from their files to the pictures of suspects raises questions that need to be asked - and answered no matter how embarrassing to Zero and his administration.
Probably everybody who posts here is on the damn list.
time for the Democrats and their leftist allies to stop pretending...
Sounds like a Million Man Extremest March is in order, to show 'Rat support. Might as well come out in the open...
SPLC has declared Free Republic a “hate” site so probably is so.........
OK, that’s good to hear. All the rhetoric about being on the lookout for ‘right wing extremists’ is like the smoke that makes up most of the communications from the administration.
It loong past time to accept Islamic threats based upon their Koran as the reality of theirtrue beliefs.
Muslims do believe in war without end to be waged upon all who refuse to submit to Islam.
Therefore, Islam must be accepted by America or we must destroy Islam.
Fortunately, that may not require killing the billion or so believers. Just nuke Mecca and Medina. Islam holds that God’s home is the Ka’aba in Mecca. Nuke that and Muslims have to accept that what they thought was God Almighty was just the mad ravings of a pedophile prophet, and a false prophet at that.
Mohammed - all pedophile, no prophet.
Destruction of Mecca will destroy the core of Islamic belief.
Then tell Muslims to destroy all the false books called “Koran”, level all Mosques and associated religious buildings, kill all Islamic religious leaders, teachers, and all who refuse to deny Islam in public.
Make sure they know They must destroy all traces of Islam or we will destroy they.
1,400 years of unceasing Muslim warring on all non-Muslims is enough.
Time to play “Cowboys & Muslims”.
Final round beginning in 10, 9, 8, 7, .......
Well, I ‘m sure the Freeper subscription list is on their list. That would’ve given it a pretty good bump.
Names like Abu-Magoo, Aba, dabb du - do, Achmad-Achoo, Mo-Mo-OooHam-Ud, and the such can be changed around at will by the Muzzies and searches miss thousands of them.
When half of those million names are “Mohamed”, it slows the process down, you know.
We are squandering BILLIONS on useless governemnt departments, agencies and programs to foster the political illusion that something is being done. the FBI still can not connect the dots (when given the picture with the dots connected). The DOJ is run by a political operative who does not enforce the laws of the land. The DNI Director of National Intelligence... what do they do? Homeland Security, TSA / ICE .. what do they do? If creating lists and watchng is fighting terrorism couldn’t we do it with far less resources?... didnt Obama just free tens of thousands of prisoners under the guise of sequester. didn’t obama tell napolitano to not enforce the boder laws... the system “pinged” when the terrorist left the country but didn’t ping when he returned. Shouldn’t that be when it pings? We allow a million per year to enter illegallly and 10-15% of them are from muslim lands openly hostile to us. What about if 1% of them are sleeper terrorists. They are not even on a list... We give fighter jets to the muslim brotherhood.
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. OBAMA IS GIVING STRONG SUPPORT TO THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD, PROTECTING TERRORISTS IN THIS COUNTRY, CREATING PHONEY LISTS DESIGNED TO INTIMIDATE USA CITIZENS WHO SEE THE REAL RISK AND RECOGNIZE THE GOVERNMENT IS AIDING AND ABETTING THE ENEMY... OUR GOVERNMENT HAS TURNED ON US AND PROTECTS OUR ENEMIES. AND WE ARE SUPPOSED TO SHUT UP? OBAMA LIES, COVERS UP, CONCEALS, DOES NOTHNG BUT GIVES SPEECHES IN FRONT OF HIS MINDLESS FOLLOWERS, COLLECTS CONTRIBUTIONS, PLAYS GOLF AND GOES ON VACATIONS.... AND WE ARE SUPPOSED TO SHUT UP? THE MEDIA IS PRAVDA AND PART OF THE PROBLEM. WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR BENGHAZI AND WHY ARE WE ARMING AL QUEDA IN SYRIA? WHY THE URGENCY TO DISARM AMERICA? WHY 4700 MRAPS AND 1.6 BILLION ROUNDS OF HOLLOW POINT? WHY DO WE ALLOW THE GOVERNMENT OF SAUDI ARABIA ISSUE US VISAS? WHEN WILL OBAMA BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS ACTS?
1. Load terrorists on barges.
2. Tow barges out to sea.
3. Sink barges.
4. End of problem.
875,000 doesn’t sound all that high. Figure with the current administration, FR accounts for 20% of that number.
Yes, this is the reality. I'll go a step further though and ask, how many of the 1.2-1.5 billion remain Muslim because of the death sentence they would face for leaving Islam, or the privileges they enjoy in countries where Islamists rule? Islam is antithetical to liberty and that makes it an enemy of America.
And, all the while we are arming them with loads of weapons, jets, etc. I keep feeling that they WILL be used against our own soldiers. It is reprehensible that we have no say in this. It’s even MORE reprehensible that our soldiers are not allowed to carry weapons for their own protection on bases ANYWHERE in the world. Talk about sitting ducks! How COULD the military allow this? Nobody has a spine these days.
They found him, they just ignored him. It’s a matter of training and judgement, the information was there.
Yep.
