What I like about the 7.62x54R is the stuff is cheap and ubiquitous.
I picked up a crate of 1200 rounds the other month.
Crappy old 1953 head stamp Bulgarian brass cased stuff.
It works just fine. That is old milsurplus.
Now they make modern 7.62x54R.
Winchester makes it there are nice loads out there and this modern stuff shoots nice.
Agree ... There are a few videos on yew tooob about paper patching surplus rifle calibers, long range etc ...I’ve done some of that with 54R bolt guns. Lots of fun .
