Obama laments entrenched power at Ohio State commencement
By REID J. EPSTEIN | 5/5/13 1:24 PM EDT
President Barack Obama is the most powerful man in the world, but he still laments that there is so much still out of his control.
Obama told Ohio State University graduates Sunday that it will be their responsibility to make the world a better place, because forces aligned against them still hold substantial power. The dour commencement address touched on Obamas familiar were-all-together theme and included shots at his regular bogeymen: Wall Street, an obstinate Congress and, of course, the press.
As youve studied and worked and served to become good citizens, the fact is that all too often the institutions that give structure to our society have, at times, betrayed your trust, Obama said. In the run-up to the financial crisis, too many on Wall Street forgot that their obligations dont end with whats happening with their sharex. In entertainment and in the media, ratings and shock value often trumped news and storytelling. In Washington well, this is a joyous occasion, so let me put it charitably: I think its fair to say our democracy isnt working as well as we know it can. It could do better. And so those of us fortunate enough to serve in these institutions owe it to you to do better, every single day.
And while Obama said hes not going to get partisan, he included reminders that its not his fault Washington focuses on the desires of the rich over the needs of the poor and middle class, that even modest gun control reforms failed in the Senate and that his quest for a grand bargain is perpetually delayed by small things.

Barry sure does whine a lot about the Constitution making it hard for him to be a fascist dictator or king.
Limbaugh Doctrine
Small things.....like the Constitutioin? Bill of Rights?
not going to get partisan
Since when?
You said...
“Limbaugh Doctrine”
That, and a president that has never really matured in life
He is anything but powerful. He is a puppet like so many lackeys.
I thought it was Limbaugh Theorem.
Poor kids, what a sad memory to leave college with.
No question about that. He is not capable of taking responsibility.
He is a shameless, full frontal, in-your-face, radical leftist Demagogue.
The press? Did he say “the press”? If it weren’t for the press sweeping Benghazi under the rug, he would not even be president, Romney would be. And there he goes again, pitting the rich against the poor. Class warfare to a class of graduates by a man who has no class.
You are correct.
"Thank you sir, may I have another!"
“Our democracy could work better”, if I was crowned Emperor Barry
you mean the press which ignored how he went to bed the CIC went to sleep when infirmed of the attack and people dying because he wanted to get up early for his Vegas trip
The same press which covered for him when he ran and the same press which ignored fast and furious and then when bozo goes to Mexico he stated it’s our fault for their gun violence and the press never mentioned to him fast and furious.
We don’t even have a free and fair press anymore, it’s like the military now, full off people who care for their own promotions and jobs than the country
he’s like a broken record, he has no idea how to run anything but goes out here speaking his radical far elft wing crap
What an embarrassment he is. I feel bad for the Buckeyes.
“Should vote eagerly and often”
Thought we were supposed to vote only once. Freudian slip?
