LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) A ban on the possession of large-capacity ammunition clips in the city of Los Angeles was one of two gun control measures the City Council approved Friday.
The proposed ordinance which was passed in an unanimous 11-0 vote would declare high-capacity ammo clips a public nuisance and allow Los Angeles police to confiscate those firearms.

I posted some more lovely, snarky comments here, for those who might be interested. I tried to keep the snark dialed back to something below 11, but this City really makes that difficult.
It will be eventually declared unconstitutional...but at least for one brief day...the crew looked swell for the newspapers and local focus groups. And that’s generally that matters.
Note, they couldn’t bring themselves to create a mechanism to put potentially dangerous mentally-ill people into state facilities.
I literally LOLed this morning when I heard about this. No kidding. I was sitting at a light laughing like a nut. I kept thinking that this is going to turn into yet another nice car for the NRA’s attorney here in CA. The LA City Council really ought to talk to their buds in San Francisco about how much it stings to get a bill from Michel and Associates. They’re still walking funny after paying for Prop. H.
Betcha the gang bangers were LOL’ing too...... ;)
So, um, who’s going into Compton to enforce this thing?
Mayor V? Heh.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
Yep. I can see that happening! IN DROVES!
I’m okay with banning high capacity CLIPS. That means the 50 and 100 round MAGAZINES are still legal.
Honestly, what these people know about guns and ammo would fit in a thimble - with room enough for an elephant.
So the gungrabbers admit confiscation is the goal of “commonsense reform”.
Actions like this are why the NRA is winning on this issue.
Authorizes confiscation, huh? So I’m sure the authorities will be streaming into East LA and SouthCentral and begin the confiscations there. Being the upstanding pillars of the community they are, the Bloods, Crips and Latin Kings will eagerly oblige.
More "journalistic" brilliance.
Good thing they didn’t ban high capacity MAGAZINES !!!
I guess HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINES are still legal. Good people of californistan had better vacate. Abraham and Gabriel are paying attention to you.

THIS NEEDS TO RUN ON NATIONAL TV!!!!

IT DESTROYS THE MYTH OF “YOU DON’T NEED MORE THAN 7 ROUNDS”.

These people can't even get basic terminology ok, and we expect them to understand technical details and larger rights issues for these kinds of things? By their own willful ignorance they show themselves unfit for their jobs.
I’m pretty sure that the “high capacity” magazines are already covered under kalifornia law. Guess the la city council (11-0?)wanted the homies to understand cause they must have been getting around state law by declaring they only used clips. Not magazines. Really 11-0? Just guessin’ but my bet is there’s a “d” behind all 11. So, what’s next? They going to doctor up all the old cowboy movies and only show the good guys wearing holster and belt with only 10 bullet loops on the belt? Of course the guys in the black hats will still have 24 loops. What frickin’ idiots.
DRESS (Defy, Resist, Evade, Smuggle, Sabotage)
Have you noticed how the politicians try to cover all bases by calling them magazine clips?
