Al-Assad Crosses the Red Line
President Obama has made a memorable contribution to the annals of worthless diplomatic ultimatums with his infamous red line warning to Bashar al-Assad not to use chemical weapons. It would be totally unacceptable, a game-changer, and bring consequences. He said all of this apparently believing he could scare Assad off using such weapons and giving nary a thought to what he would do if Assad defied his threats.

That was Obama’s red line... BFD.
Stay out of Syria... it’s not our fight.
That was just the red line. Then there’s the purple line and the blue line and the... well, there are a lot of lines. And you better not cross them, or you’ll be sorry. Really.
+1
Six more weeks of Obama dithering.
Well, just as well, since the rebels are far worse than Assad. Let’s stay the hell out of this.
In fact, it kind of surprises me he hasn’t already intervened more openly, since he loves to go in on the wrong side and get our troops killed with his Muslim Rules of Engagement (e.g., infidels aren’t allowed to fight back).
No one cares about what the Obamadork says.
No one gives a smelly Obama about what the Obamadork does.
Our friends regard the Obamadork as a spineless limp-d*cked dork.
Our enemies regard the Obamadork as a chicken-lips limp-d*cked dork.
Face it, oh naive liberals, YOUR president is measurably the least qualified national leader in the entire multiverse.
Panetta will send another tersely worded ‘post-it’ note , just like he did in Benghazi.
I am sure it will get lost in the mail
soetoro is studying the situation to get an idea of how many Americans he can murder in that process.
Let the British, French, and Israelis handle it then.
...what it means is Odungo has to get more red paint to paint more red lines.....soon he’ll be heading to the greens
I doubt Assad did. I think FSA probably got a hold of some of the crap and it blew up in their face. Same thing happened to Aum Shinrikyo before they bombed the Tokyo Subway.
FSA are a bunch of Al Qaeda bas**rds, and Assad is simply stacking up the bodies for us. Go Assad.
The Syrian gun running funds are going where? Maybe the stream of income is too important to interupt over a few chemical weapons used in a limited manner. After all the stream of income was too important on 9-11-12 to save an Ambassador.
Considering the Current Regime in the White Hut, not much that would be useful in resolving this conflict will happen. But that crew is highly adept at pouring flammable liquids on an already raging fire.
They will jump in on the wrong side, join in ineffectual blockades and international sanctions that will have little or no effect, and study just the wrong intelligence to come out of the area, or will get the collection all wrong to begin with. They will further anger the Russians (who are at the moment propping up Bashar al-Assad), and give fuel to the argument the Iranians and the dissidents in Iraq have been making, the US is a paper tiger.
The best response would be to come to the aid of Israel, who stands to bear the brunt of the collateral damage to come out of this Muslim on Muslim violence, but The Won is just unable to bring himself to do what is the wisest and most prudent course of action for the remainder of his term in office.
Which should be followed by a term in Colorado Supermax. For life plus 200 years.
Sec Def Hagel would probably be sending that note these days ... I’m sure it will garner more respect than Panetta’s. /s
move the line.......
