US tanker plane 'crashes in Kyrgyzstan after take off'

A US cargo plane has crashed after taking off from an airbase in Kyrgyzstan, local reports say.

The tanker aircraft had left the US Manas airbase near the capital Bishkek, officials told AFP.

The emergency situations ministry said the plane had broken into three pieces but information about casualties has yet to be released.

Seven crew members died when a US civilian cargo plane crashed at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan on Monday.

Witnesses of the Kyrgyzstan crash told local media that they heard a boom and saw an explosion.

The transport plane was carrying a cargo of fuel when it disappeared off the radar near the mountain village of Chaldybar, close to the border with Kazakhstan, Reuters reported.

The US military uses the Manas airbase to maintain its operations in Afghanistan.

It was a KC-135, and it crashed 100 miles west of Bishkek, not at the airport.

This is two major plane crashes in a week.

No money for military maintenance?

Plenty for illegals.

"...when it disappeared off the radar near the mountain village of Chaldybar, close to the border with Kazakhstan

and

"students have managed to shot the crash using their cell phones."

and

"The Associated Press by telephone that the plane broke into three pieces when it crashed into an uninhabited area."[twitter link]
So we are to 'understand' that in an 'uninhabited area" of Kyrgyzstan students just happen to be standing, with their cell phones handy to capture video of an American military plane break into pieces before it crashes ?

FWIW, The Tsarnaevs came with their family to the US almost a decade ago from Kyrgystan.

Give our leaders time to tell us what to believe. Do not look at any pictures or videos until our overlords release the ones we should see.

A friend of mine flies tankers. He said his training got down to the bone.
And yet I read that DHS spent a million dollars on dress uniforms and bagpipes.
Good to see this Government set its piorties straight/

If it’s a KC-10, then it is all three.

Also note, two "Kazakh" nationals, Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, were charged with conspiring to obstruct justice in relation to the Boston bombings as well.

The KC-135R is equipped with the newer CMF-56 engine vs. the old KC-135A with the J-57 engine, which also used water injection of 5,581 lbs 550 gallons of demineralized water on take-off. Normal take-off was to 1,000 ft remaining pull back on the stick and hope to God it flew. During the mid-1980’s we were losing one crew a year in the old steam jets. One of the reasons I volunteered to cross-train from my flight position as a Boom Operator over to the KC-10A, Extender. The average R model tanker was built as an A model 1957-1964. Considering some of these aircraft are as old as I was when I flew them (a couple even older), it is a testament to the maintenance crews and aircrew that these museum pieces still fly. I will be praying for the safety of the aircrew, but realize how bad it can be when a flying gas station impacts the ground.
