Kris Kross star Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly has died at the age of 34.
The rapper was found unresponsive at his home in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday and transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, a representative for the Fulton Country Medical Examiner tells Billboard.com.
The cause of death is not yet known and an autopsy is expected to take place on Thursday.
Stars flocked to pay tribute to Kelly as news of his death broke, with Timbaland and Big Boi among the first to offer their condolences.
R&B star Monica lamented, "Chris Kelly, may the peace of God comfort your family & all of those who love u."
Kelly and his bandmate Chris 'Daddy Mac' Smith were discovered in 1990 by Jermaine Dupri and the duo went on to release three studio albums.
They are best known for their hit 1992 song Jump, which spent eight weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and their penchant for wearing their clothing backwards.
Bit that won’t stop some Freepers from acting like Grade A jerks.
A rapper called “Mac Daddy”.
That is really all we need to know.
True dat!
Yeah, a little kid called, “Mac Daddy.”

Maybe he “jumped, jumped” off a building. he he he
He was just turning his life around.
That song was really popular when I was in 7th grade.
It was pretty catchy. Goodness knows it wasn’t full of violent lyrics. They were kids!
YAWN! Wonder if it were drugs???? Yawn!
Judging that their Jump song went Number One on the music charts....a lot of White Guilt Liberals listened to this
Never heard of him!
There's probably millions of people saying the same stuff about the music you listen to.
Me? I've got everything on my iPhone from Yanni to George Strait...to Dr. Dre...to the Les Miz soundtrack...from Garth Brooks to Pink Floyd...from Andrea Bocelli to Petra to the P-Furs. I've got the Gaither Vocal band and I've got Led Zeppelin. I've even got Gregorian Chants and the Andrews Sisters and Artie Shaw.
Music is the spice of life. Some folks are bland eaters...and some...not so much.
It was a cute novelty song, not a social commentary.
Meanwhile they're still spinning 33's in the basement listening to their stack of Feron Young records.
But I will say this: I do not think the music of today compares to the music of the 60's, 70's and 80's as far as talent goes. First...you never know if what you are hearing is real or mixed. Second...the shear complexity of music today is much les than 20 or 30 years ago. Listen to the complexity of a modern top 40 and compare it to something from Rush or LZ or Pink Floyd. Doesn't compare...but tastes are tastes. But I think this is why a lot of younger kids like older music. My kids (teen and younger) like older rock rather than the new stuff...they like to hear a little guitar getting beat.
Did he ever learn to put his pants on properly?
His mama brought him up wrong, tha’s what she did, mmmm hmmm!
Top 40 is crap. Top 40 was crap when I was growing up in the 1970s and Crystal Gayle was on the AM and tee vee and Kiss and Styx were on the radio.
It was crap in the 1980s when I was in college and Bong Jovy was on the radio with Brooose Springsteen and Mad Ona and Mikel Jackson.
It’s always been crap and it ever shall be.
With rare exception, radio sucks and so do “top seller” lists.
PS Elvis was far from the best rock and roller of the 1950s and even Ike Turner’s 1950s cuts beat Little Richard. Yes I said it.
Funny thing was, they actually staged a COMEBACK tour last year!
I guess they saw how NKOTB (New Kids on Da Block) were doing reunion tours and stuff.
Me? I'm seeing the Monkees this summer (Davey Jones RIP! It's all good, Michael Nesmith is back and will be singing Circle Sky and Mickey will be singing the Porpoise Song from the movie Head, a head flick if there ever was one).
you bad!
