Kris Kross star Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly has died at the age of 34.
The rapper was found unresponsive at his home in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday and transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, a representative for the Fulton Country Medical Examiner tells Billboard.com.
The cause of death is not yet known and an autopsy is expected to take place on Thursday.
Stars flocked to pay tribute to Kelly as news of his death broke, with Timbaland and Big Boi among the first to offer their condolences.
R&B star Monica lamented, "Chris Kelly, may the peace of God comfort your family & all of those who love u."
Kelly and his bandmate Chris 'Daddy Mac' Smith were discovered in 1990 by Jermaine Dupri and the duo went on to release three studio albums.
They are best known for their hit 1992 song Jump, which spent eight weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and their penchant for wearing their clothing backwards.

No street cred unless it was a hit, they might want to make it look like one. Then, his “music” would sell forever.

Never heard of them. Had to google their “hit” Jump. After listening to it for 15 seconds, I realized that I had never heard of it...
Who listens to this crap?

Kris Kross star Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly has died at the age of 34.

Kelly and his bandmate Chris 'Daddy Mac' Smith were discovered in 1990 by Jermaine Dupri and the duo went on to release three studio albums.
As the age of 34 and the year of 1990 indicate, Kris Kross was a child novelty act - two pre-teen kids lip-syncing and wearing backward baseball caps back in the days when MTV still played music videos. Their fan base consisted of little girls and their mothers, and they lost interest as soon as the two boys became old enough to shave. Kris Kross had about as much to do with real rap as Donnie Osmond does with real rock and roll.

He was a great rap artist. RIP
