Loved the book, still looking forward to the movie.

“Incoherent ending”... well, if a writer from “Lost” was part of it, then that is a given!

Its a zombie movie, making sense should never be a high priority. It isn’t good news when this sort of thing leaks before hand.

Fun book, written by Max Brooks, son of Mel Brooks. Looks like decent special effects. Don’t expect anything thought provoking for a summer blockbuster movie.

Zombies.. the rotten, mangled undead who can always be “killed” by a shotgun blast.

I’ve never understood the Walking Dead phenom. The zombies are slow and stupid. Since caveman days, the one thing humans know how to kill is anything that is slow and stupid, by using standoff weapons, as well as anything that is strong and fast, by trapping it with bait. And yet the humans in Walking Dead cower in their dwellings instead of manufacturing more standoff weapons and digging pits to trap the zombies. Every time they encounter zombies, they always run out of ammo, when they should have bags of arrows on hand at all times. The only way Walking Dead makes sense is if all of the characters were developmentally disabled, or the zombies were replaced with lions or bears.

If they want it to succeed, they need to hire Bruce Campbell.

Sounds like this article is more about promotional heads up to the public that the movie is being shot and will be coming out.

Anyone that has worked in Hollywood realizes one of two things. One that few productions anymore are tightly shot on time and budget—especially the larger the list star or perceived audience demand.

Secondarily most all film adaptations are rewritten by a MULTITUDE of the best talent of writers in Hollywood. Akin to ‘everyone has taken a stab at it.” I once worked on a major adaptation written by one of the best novelists of all time (who was still alive at the time) and there were at least three of the top screenwriters in LA that were locked away to do a rewrite on each others job (simultaneously of course--but not always haha) It took years to get just the script in a state for shooting.

Usually non logical endings are clear in the writing. So guess no one really bothered to truly look AT and READ the script until after the film was edited. lol.

Like I said no new news here. Tells you one of the reasons film are so long now and the budgets are astronomical.

Should have been a mini series, but no Brad Pitt wanted an action movie that bearded little resemblance to the book.

Incoherence?

That hasn’t stopped many other movies from being produced.

Many start out sensible, but turn to the ridiculous about half-way through.

Of course, Hollywood only has so many scripts that they revise and rename.

Why not a techno thriller that allows the last christian holdouts left on earth that have taken refuge underground in Antarctica for several decades and chance upon secret Third Reich weapons so far advanced many speculated Hitler gained some form of alien technology.

And these last Christians on earth battle an Islamic domination globally, they program a nanobot that targets Moslems first off, the device causes any person praying certain Islamic phrases to go into a 3 day coma. That is just a warning.

Any moslem screaming “All our snackbars” or similar wordage has an immediate and uncontrollable heavy dose of diarrhea.

A black hole develops at Mecca and it basically disappears.
And then eventually billions of robotic insects fly around globally everywhere looking for any words about Islam and then attack by burrowing into the persons skull and exploding.

Islam dies along with about a billion people, peace then develops, mankind is free again.

At Nully's request.

The interview had been going well. Finally my interviewer got to the part that signaled he had no more questions. The signal doesn’t vary much from company to company. “Well,” he said, “that’s all the questions I have for you. Do you have any for me?”

I have a pretty good set of questions I usually ask to let him know I was paying attention and really care about the job. Usually I already know the answer but asking the question is important. In this case I really did have a question about something that had piqued my curiosity.

“That office over there,” I nodded my head to my left, his right, “I haven’t seen anyone go in or out since I’ve been here. What’s it used for?”

“Oh, people don’t go in there. That’s where we keep the zombie coders.”

“Zombie coders?” My poker face was nowhere to be found. “You have zombies in there?”

“Oh, yeah.” He said. “They’re great. Their code is as good as we ever got from people. They don’t mind working long, hard hours, and we don’t have to pay them a thing.”

“But, I thought zombies were dangerous.” I was making sure I knew where the exits were.

“Oh, not if you feed them well,” he assured me. “They really don’t have any interest in coming out of that room. The only reason they would is if they got hungry. We haven’t ever had a problem with that. They don’t even get noisy any more, although in the early days the sounds coming through the door would tell us they were hungry.”

“But, how can you feed them if...”

“Shh,” he interrupted me, “you’re just in time. Just watch.”

At that point a man came into the room and said, “Did someone order pizza?” My host pointed to the door and the pizza man said, “Thanks.” Then he opened the door. Immediately he was snatched and I heard the first part of a scream before the door shut behind him and muffled the sound of rending flesh. Nobody else in the room even looked up.

“Delivery guys are our salvation. There are way too many of them in this city anyway. Nobody cares when one goes missing. And there are plenty of food places around here so we can order delivery for over 3 months before we have to repeat. It’s a really sweet setup.”

I’m not sure what he was reading in my face at this point, but I noticed more movement by that door. A man in a suit and tie knocked on the door and said, “OK, guys, status time.” Then he opened the door and went in. I cringed waiting for the sounds I had heard from the pizza guy, but was surprised when nothing happened. A few minutes later the door opened and the man in the suit came out. “Thanks, guys. See you tomorrow,” he said.

“How did he do that?” I asked, my eyes surely as round as saucers at this point.

“Oh, that was the project manager. He was never in any danger. The zombies only eat brains.”
