I’ll say it again in this thread: I’m not clever enough to know exactly how or by whom, but I think we’re being played here.
Do we have two greater enemies in the world than Russia and Saudi Arabia? Why are they now our best friends, warning us repeatedly about the dangers of terrorism?
Does anybody buy this?
Can anyone who understands disinformation better than I do give some insight into this?
Our enemies are radical Islamists and AQ IMHO.
Both are enemies of Russia and the Saudi regime. Obama is about to blow up the entire Middle East...folks are getting nervous.
Short answer: they know that if we really go down, so do they. For starters, about a third of their populations start starving to death, which means revolution. However, they were used to competent opposition, so they played hard to maintain a strategic edge. They are now realizing that obastard is both incompetent and a Muslim Brotherhood symp, and they’re getting desperate to stave off what they have wrought.
Jihadists are also a threat to both the Saudi and Russian governments. The Saudi royal house is particularly threatened by them, and they certainly know they have less to fear from us than from Al Qaeda. So it’s self-preservation to keep AQ or other jihadi movements from attacking here.
Putin is embarrassed by this whole fiasco, and doesn’t want to look incompetent.
