Slut-shaming is at the root of all problems. Well, it seems to be at the root of a lot of mine, anyway. Anyone whos ever been slut-shamed understands when I say that it can alter your sexual health decisions, erode your self-esteem, and change how you interact with both sexes. And for anyone whos not familiar with the term, slut-shaming is the act of declaring someone a slut (or a whore or any other similar word, or even promiscuous, for that matter) based upon perceived sexual behavior: the clothing someone wears, the way they communicate with potential partners, the people they date, the number of partners they have (or havent) had, and the type of sex they enjoy.
That slut-shaming intersects with and hurts efforts to prevent sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) might surprise you. Slut-shaming, the sex-negative way of describing someones sexual activities, combines social repercussions, fear, andas its name suggestsshame in an attempt to control the actions of those who are sexually active. The impact is, generally speaking, an increase in STD transmission rates.
The following spring, I contracted genital herpes.
It took me years to overcome that stigma
When young men and women are made to feel shameful about their sexual behavior, they naturally become reticent to seek advice once theyve become sexually active. That humiliation also means they less equipped to have the conversations people need to have to have safer sex... less likely to talk to partners about using protection, how many partners theyve had, when and for what theyve been tested, and what they want to incorporate into their safer-sex regimen.
I also want to point out that having been slut-shamed was not the sole reason I contracted genital herpes

Stop being a slut and people will likely not call you that
In a way I do believe that insane, dysfunctional behavior approving accolades are what they are craving. It’s perversion, and the perverted like to chatter about “repression” when in reality they are the ones who repress truth, leaving their God-given appetites with nothing but lies to try to satisfy them. Keep sex within a committed, sworn heterosexual union? Naw, that’s nothing special, why that’s just old fudge dudge talk stopping us from having all manner of fun with our gonads! Wheeeee here we go!
I guess they just don’t understand how much fun sex is in a monogamous, disease free, heterosexual union that is ready and willing to work as a team to raise even unplanned children. Granted. You don’t get to have a wide variety of partners, but why settle for McDonald’s sex (dirty, well used tables, and mundane food) when you can enjoy an exquisite feast for two for life? There’s something truly wonderful about sharing all your firsts (and in my case, hopefully my lasts) with another human. Promiscuous people are settling for so little and paying such a tremendous price for it.
Could it be that the world's ridicule of the chaste is simply that ... jealousy?
Another asshat not taking responsibility for her actions.
A marriage is a uniting of two spirits not just a casual game of two bodies, and in Christian form is specially blessed by the Lord. As families break up the difficulty of appreciating “ye olde marriage” spreads like dominos falling; dysfunctional children with nothing but an equally dysfunctional society to look at will go wilder than even animals would. What’s starting to go on today would make even monkeys blush.
And it seem they are quite sensitive about it...
It’s sort of like how you felt when Ronald Reagan spoke vs Obama on TV. You can see true passion and love with Reagan, and in Obama, cheap acting covering his hate of all things good.
They call us haters, but they’ve got everything backwards. I feel sorry for the author. I’m not angry or hateful toward her. I’m simply disappointed that she gave up so much for so little, that she could have had much better but settled for sin.
For the record, I’m not a perfect man. LOL. I’m a sinner. I’m just not a slave to sin. I made peace with God. It’s not possible to win a war against Him, and one has nothing to gain and everything to lose by raging against God. God, as the designer who loves us, only wants what’s best for us. He isn’t trying to ruin our fun. He’s pointing the way to true peace and joy.
That :
Girl teens who dress like hookers are promiscuous because the other kids call them sluts for the way they dress, doing it in an insulting fashion.
girls dressing like that probably are
Oh, BULL CRAP.
Stop being a stupid ho.
No guy in his right mind wants to end up stuck with one.
My wife and I were discussing things like this the other day. One of our key problems as a society is the lack of shame. If there was a little more of it...perhaps articles like this would not have to be written.
It is simple...don’t look like, act like or be slutty...then you will not suffer from slut shaming...wow, is it really that difficult to understand?
God created the weave that makes up our reality...there will never be acceptance of slutty behavior by culture...not deep down. When one tears the “weave” in their own life it is their life that gets damaged...not God’s law.
She definitely was not a KYPO......Keep Your Pants On....member
I just read how much better she would feel if we all took an aids test.
Thats why they despise and ridicule anyone with standards
Spirited: True. But look at the evil thing lurking just beneath the surface of their criticism: scapegoating. Unable to bear the burden of their own sin they transfer it to the innocent man, most generally the one who holds to standards. Upon casting the innocent as the guilty party the scapegoater feels free to crucify him.
No, it's a common slur for anyone you dislike, among the lower class of females.
However, stopping the behavior does prevent the contraction of further STDs.
