The media,liberals,democrats,communists, and many of the 'republicans' were all united after 911.... for about two weeks. Then things went back to normal. Even if President Bush had managed to get some legislation going, they would have eventually killed it.Perhaps, but the main reason Bush didn't attempt to reign in massive third world population transfers into our homeland is because he favored such transfers.
