Dem. Senator ‘Absolutely’ Bringing Back Failed Gun Control Bill
The Blaze ^ | 4/28/13 | Madeleine Morgenstern

Posted on 04/29/2013 10:55:47 AM PDT by Nachum

One of the senators behind this month’s failed gun control legislation says he’s “absolutely” bringing it back.

West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin said on “Fox News Sunday” he plans to re-introduce a bill to require gun buyers to undergo criminal and mental health background checks for all online and gun show sales.

Manchin said he would urge Senate opponents to “read the bill and tell me what you don’t like.”

He acknowledged that there was confusion about what was in the failed bill, and said the new version would have to be stripped down and simplified.

Manchin said talk that Republican Senate colleague Pat Toomey — who co-sponsored the previous legislation with him — was finished trying to pass a gun bill was incorrect.

“I was with Pat last night, and Pat’s totally committed to this bill,” Manchin said.

So Joe Manchin, who was endorsed by the NRA twice, who won his first election by running an ad showing him shooting a bullet through Obamacare, has become the champion of gun control. He has turned into a typical, “talk conservative at home and vote liberal in Washington” Democrat. And at this point, he is probably in for life.

Anti-gunners cannot be bargained with. They cannot be reasoned with They don’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And They absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are totally disarmed.

I’d support it, only if liberalism is classified as a mental illness.

Our Representative government has already ruled. The people have spoken. What’s worse than the Democrats relentless pursuit of the result they want, is their total lack of respect for a vote they don’t like.

Manchin said he would urge Senate opponents to “read the bill and tell me what you don’t like.”

There was no confusion. The bill was intended to infringe on our right to keep and bear arms to the maximum extent we would tolerate. Once we actually read the bill, it turned out that it would have infringed on our God-given right to keep and bear arms even more than we would tolerate.

The next bill will no doubt be intended to infringe on our right to keep and bear arms to the maximum extent we will then tolerate, with their ambitions scaled back to a more incremental approach. Liberals are almost like rapists if those predators first asked if it's okay to molest our wives daily, got slapped down, and then asked how many days a week it would be okay to attack our wives and daughters if we aren't okay with daily.

Gun laws have gone too far. We need to oppose any gun law that further restricts our God-given rights.

If the far left wants new firearms legislation, how about starting by repealing all gun laws that didn't work. If they don't work, why keep them. If they do work, why do we need even more?

If the progs/Radical Left Wing Extremist Demokkkrat Scumbag Socialists are really serious, quit the BS discussion(of which there should be NONE!), since infringed means you don’t touch it, and propose an amendment to the constitution that would make the 2nd amendment null and void. No more BS about “assault rifles”, no more stupid statements about “high capacity clips”, no more “high powered weapons” crap. That way, if they can actually get the required votes to sustain the amendment, then it’s over and done with. No more incremental chewing away at something they aren’t supposed to mess with. When it can’t gets the votes and is rejected, as it should be, then they(RLWEDSS) forever would be disallowed from attempting any further infringement. When it goes down to a defeat, king hussein could have another petulant temper tantrum like a spoiled 3yr old who’s never been told “no” or because he didn’t get his way. Sack up progs and propose it. Let’s settle this once and for all.

it is a war of attrition with them. step by step, inch by inch...

while we are tryign to live our lives, they are totally devoted to this, even if it does not happen in their lifeltimes- each incremenet is a victory for them.

“I was with Pat last night, and Pat’s totally committed to this bill,” Manchin said.

Pat should speak for himself rather than laying low on this issue if he's so committed to it.

It’s very easy to answer Senator High and Mighty Manchin what there is not to like:

You’re a democrat fascist.

Anything and Everything You Say is a Lie.

Here, let me help:

SB12345a
aka the “Y’all bitter clingers don’t need guns act”

Paragraph 1: Y’all who are crazy don’t need guns. We will decide who is crazy. If you want a gun, think about guns, or like guns, then you are de facto crazy.

Paragraph 2: Y’all all need to tell us what guns you own, want to own, used to own, or plan to own. If you sell a gun, or think about selling a gun, you need to get our permission first. We’ll write down all the information you send us and put it in our big electronic safes but we SWEAR it’s not gun registration. Scout’s honor!

Paragraph 3: (written in invisible ink) That list of gun owners will come in mighty handy when anyone who loves Jesus will be declared crazy and we’ll need to pick up their guns.

... How’d I do, Munchkin?

They can’t quit. They need to expand the background checks for one simple reason...they have been using the NICS to build a national gun registry for a long, long time. Probably all the way back to it’s inception. The die was cast in the last administration...establish a blatantly illegal policy in secret (warrantless wiretapping, anyone?) And when caught change the law and make it retroactive so no one can be punished. I hope none of the rubes think any data collected by fedgov is ever destroyed. Expanding the checks is just the next step.

If I remember correctly, that’s EXACTLY what became of the original “assault rifle ban”, and for that reason.
