I think it’s mroe a reaction of shock- He and his ilk foguht long and hard for such draconian socialist rules and laws, thinmking I guess that it was only goign to apply to the right- but when they to their shock discovered that they too were affected, well then, things became ‘unfair’ again- Fair to peopel like Maher means stickign it to the right while exempting the left fro mthe same laws
