I have noticed the same problem with my new dishwasher (we add phosphate to the detergent every time); also, it takes at least twice as long to do a load of dishes as it had before.

My question (and I am being serious), do you save any "energy" by using twice the time to do the same job?

Well, look at me using gallons of water from a shower hose to clean a toilet! Other people flush over and over again, but you have to wait for the water to fill the tank. Al Gore never cared about the environment, it’s a kind of snake oil religion that makes them money. Before he dies, he’ll probably have a net worth of a billion dollars just for making middle-class housewives miserable and their houses dirty.
