I can’t stand college football, it’s really boring to me unless a Cam Newton or someone like that comes along. Unfortunately it’s the cash cow. The hoop teams are OK in that they’re in good hands with Geno (man, 8 rings) and it looks like Ollie’s a good coach too, it doesn’t matter where you play.

NC is good, been here 15 years. Being in Charlotte, SC is a few miles away and seems a little more laid back. Like any place, the cities (including Charlotte increasingly) are rat-Infested with the 47% types. I think you can’t go wrong in GA either. It’s a different world, not necessarily a slower pace, but everything is so new here. I go back to CT, and nothing has changed. And they sky really is Carolina blue.

My husband and I were recently on a long driving trip (CT to Florida and back again), and took a look at the Bluffton and Beaufort, SC areas. Also saw a bit of Charlotte on the way down.

There's a reason things are so new there... those areas are BOOMING, as opposed to CT, NY, MA, and other deep blue northeastern states, where people - and businesses - are leaving in droves. Saw lots of U-Haul trucks with NY plates heading South on our way down (God help y'all).

I heard NC is looking at abolishing its state income tax... that'll make NC a lot more attractive to us. And kudos to the people of NC for voting NO on gay marriage. That made me take a second look at NC, when we assumed it was going to the dark blue side a few years ago...
