SACRAMENTO The state Assembly on Thursday passed a bill that would make California the first state in the nation to allow non-citizens who are in the country legally to serve on jury duty.

To your question - NO!
THAT is NOT a jury of your peers!
So what does it mean to be an American citizen?
Nothing, as far as california is concerned.
Still trying to figure out California government’s endgame. Hated productive people and companies leave, more unproductive people from around the world are welcomed, those that want to work work for non-profit companies, and the skies are not cloudy all day.
WTF? Unreal. I can see how that would go, “
Mohammed Allah Dirka Dirka what is your verdict?”
“Well under Sharia law in my homeland I do not find the defendant guilty of rape but the woman is guilty for not wearing traditional burka. I sentence her to death Allahu Akbar”
I would have thought that non-citizens would not count for a jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, if the crime was committed in the United States.
In fact with Kali's prison population, I'd say that to not have a jury of illegals, would be denying them of a jury of their peers.
This is disgusting.
Are there any advantages to being a citizen anymore? Its sounding more and more like a liability these days.
ping
Rick Perry in Texas must be lapping this up like cream in a saucer.
This is a trickier question than most people here realize!!!
Are you a “U.S. CITIZEN”?

Or are you an “American citizen from the state of [your state]”

It means you have lots of obligations, and no special rights or privileges .
Jury duty is just one of those jobs that americans won’t do. [/sarcasm]
But seriously, I’ll go to jury duty if I’m called for it. If for no other reason than having the opportunity to hang the jury if someone is on trial for some victimless crime like drugs possession.
Well, well....once Rubio’s amnesty plan is passed then all the illegal aliens will very quickly be legal residents and ready & raring to serve California jury duty. Nothing like a little jury nullification of for La Raza perps and being able to come down heavy on any Gringos or Blacks who has the misfortune to be judged by this crowd.
