New York Times Co reported a decline in quarterly revenue on weak advertising sales but said it would try to grow out of the slump by expanding its suite of digital products.
The 11.2 percent drop in advertising revenue in the first quarter underscores the pressure that the New York Times faces to increase its subscription revenue, especially for its digital products, and find new veins of income.

So?
They don’t need profits. Profits are evil.
They have a future in bird cage liners and toilet paper.
Perhaps they should try advancing God, country, patriotism instead of pushing godless Marxist/socialist totalitarianism, Islamofascism and treason!!
I don’t hold out much hope for the Paul Krugman Daily Affirmations App...
Try reporting on what’s going on instead of just making up the news and pushing the Commie agenda.

Frozen burritos seem to be an increasingly popular item. They should consider those.
Since they will never do that, I will smile when they go out of business.
My local paper, The Tallahassee Democrat, has several times run surveys to see what the great unwashed populace wanted. Then they ran each question and suggestion with an explanation of why the people where wrong and how they weren’t going to change anything. They asked the question. The answer was, we want a more balanced paper. Get rid of Doonesbury. Essentially, they said no.
They have several times started delivering it free. They do this when they have big advertising like for Thanksgiving. I called to make them stop it as I wasn’t home and nothing says rob-me like having several old papers at the end of the drive. I was told that it was free and they couldn’t stop delivery. Imagine. You can’t make them stop dropping it off for free. How desperate are they to get that circulation number up?
That's really gonna hurt...they've written it down from the $1 billion plus they paid, but not all the way down. They'll get a pittance, plus they will likely have to guarantee pensions and medical cost for most employees.
That's like stopping a migraine by cutting off your head.
Call the cops. See if you can get them cited for littering.
Seems that the natives in the newsroom are restless...the long knives are out for Jill Abramson..a new front in tghe "war on women?"
Both Abramson and Baquet are affirmative action hires. They deserve one another.
We're going to come up with some exciting new digital products to offset our tumbling revenues ... and we're going to give you some details just as soon as we can figure out what the new products are ... so don't sell your stock in our rag and make our family fortune any smaller ... please!
I like the Krugman doll. Ask it a question, pull a string and it says “The Answer is Carbon Tax”.
“How can I woo my true love?”
“The answer is a carbon tax.”
