(sigh)

Many decades ago, American was the melting pot of inclusion for all races and ethnicities. Today, thanks to our incompetent politicians and “political correctness”, we are becoming the country of exclusivity - Black whatever groups, gay whatever groups, Japanese whatever groups, 3-legged Andalusian goat whatever groups, Arab whatever groups; in fact, any special interest group EXCEPT whites.

And people wonder why America is splintering.

Go figure.

That's not quite true. Even many decades ago, there were organizations/groups for all sorts of different ethnicities/religions/nationalities, especially in areas with large immigrant populations. Think Chinatowns, Little Italy, Little Germany, Irish organizations, Jewish organizations, etc. The idea that the America of decades back was some sort of single unified culture where immigrants were welcomed and assimilated immediately is not quite accurate. Consider the movie Gangs of New York - obviously a fictional account, but the portrayal of racial/ethnic/national tensions in the mid-19th century was pretty accurate.

There may not have been Congressional Caucuses, but that's largely because there weren't many Congressmen who were not
