Former first lady Barbara Bush said her son George W. Bush should be the last in the family line of presidents, rejecting the idea of a White House run for her other son, Jeb Bush.

“There are other people out there that are very qualified and we’ve had enough Bushes,” she told TODAY’s Matt Lauer on Thursday from inside her son's presidential library.

When asked whether she expects Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, to make a presidential run, Mrs. Bush said there are many worthy candidates.

I spent a good amount of time in FL when he was governor. Came across to me as a second-rate TV anchor - stiff and uninspiring.

And that’s not mentioning his RINO-ism.

most of these replies are missing the point.

she has seen her husband and one son dishonestly maligned in the press. she doesn’t want to see another son subjected to that.

I don’t care what her motivation is as long as her statement is correct.

Let’s see the short history of the Bush’s lust for power. George Bush senior desperately wanted to be chosen for vice-president when Spiro Agnew was forced to resign. Instead, Nixon chose Gerald Ford. He was again desperate to be chosen for vice-president when Richard Nixon resigned, but Gerald Ford chose Nelson Rockefeller. He wanted to be the vice-presidential nominee in ‘76 but Gerald Ford chose Bob Dole. Then he ran for president in 1980 but was defeated by Ronald Reagan and finally got his wish to be vice-president. Then he became president on Reagan’s coattails and was defeated four years later in 1992 because he was an inept, wimpy moderate. Then he had two of his sons run for governor in 1994, George won and Jeb lost. Jeb won four years later in 1998 while George was reelected. Then George ran for president in 2000 and barely squeaked by in a win, and also won barely four years later in 2004. George W. Bush, safely reelected then turned left as his father had before him, leaving the republican party split and in shambles in 2008. And now the Bush’s want another of their worthless, moderate, elitest bretheren to run for president.

NO THANK YOU! Forty years of you people’s lust for power is enough!!

Hmm, call me paranoid but this sounds like a set up. I see post 16 agrees with me.

All it does is put her son’s name back in the news.

Just like Jeb saying he didn’t want to be in the CPAC poll I take this as a sign he is interested.

Maybe she was just innocently responding to a question but my gut tells me Jeb wants it and if she’s saying it’s a bad idea that means it was authorized for her to say that.

On an unrelated note: http://cdn2.menshealth.com/sites/default/files/images/slideshow2/barbara-bush.jpg

She was decent looking 3000 years ago.

He wouldn’t win anyway because 2016 is Hillarys year because as we have seen, she was a participant in two of the most corrupt Presidential administrations in history, she accomplished absolutely nothing as Senator and was an unmitigated disaster as Secretary of state, so therefore that qualifies her for the office of President.
