Former President George W. Bush says he isnt interested in playing on the national political stage any longer. But for family, hes making an exception.
Asked in an interview with ABC News Diane Sawyer whether he thinks his brother former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush should run for president in 2016, the ex-president was unequivocal.
Hed be a marvelous candidate if he chooses to do so. He doesnt need my counsel cause he knows what it is, which is run, the elder Bush brother said about Jebs possible candidacy, in an interview that first aired Wednesday on World News with Diane Sawyer. But whether he does or not, its a very personal decision.
The former president even allowed himself to picture the potential 2016 matchup: Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Rodham Clinton. It would be a family rematch of the 1992 election, when George H.W. Bush lost to Bill Clinton.
Itll be a fantastic photo here. It would certainly eclipse the museum and the center, Bush said on the eve of the formal opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University, just outside Dallas. Im interested in politics. Im, you know, Im fascinated by all the gossip and stuff that goes on. But the field wont be become clear til after the midterms.
Asked for a word of advice to the Republican Party, the former president struck an optimistic note amid rounds of GOP soul-searching: You will exist in the future, he said with a smile.
On several major issues, though, Bush made clear hes staying away from day-to-day political battles.

I’m more interested in a great conservative leader than in a fantastic photo.
He is an open borders, one world order elite and he would destroy the republican party forever. Millions of us will never... and I mean NEVER vote for another Bush again. GHW Bush damaged every single Conservative advance that Reagan accomplished.

Bush vs. Clinton again. No matter who wins, America loses.
Come on George, get a damn grip.
No more Mitt McLames. There will be a much larger base-voter turnout roll-off next time.
Mitt won because, one by one, the Conservative choices self destructed. Bachmann led early but gaffed herself out of the nomination. Cain led later, but he either couldn't control himself or caved under false accusations. I hope it was the latter and he caved due to inexperience, because I still think he would be a great choice if that was the case.
The rest of the candidates were simply ineffective.
Laura and her mother-in-law, Prune Face both.
What he will say is that mexicans are really Americans and that we must make illegals legal and give them citizenship... and along with it... most of our wealth.

Does such a thing even exist anymore? I often lose track of how long ago Reagan was, and then get a gutcheck when I realize its been 24 long years. And Reagan, in his dress, his appearance, his oratory skills, and his moral courage was a throwback even then.
I cannot think of one person today who is even remotely close to Reagan. And if such a person did exist, he wouldn't win in this godless, soulless place that was once the greatest nation on earth. Freedom's last stand on earth, to quote Reagan...
Mark Levin was just awesome on this!!
I would like to keep Duck Dynasty though...
I might as well have compared George Washington to Fidel Castro given the vitriolic reaction I got from many on this forum for making such a statement. You would have thought Mitt Romney was the devil reincarnate rather than just the latest RINO flavor.
If we're going to prevent another RINO stampede into picking our candidate, we need to get behind one of them now and stop looking for perfection.
For all their warts, I think Rand Paul or Paul Ryan would fit the bill. I'd prefer Sarah Palin or Rick Santorum, but I honestly can not see how either can get any traction.
I agree! Too bad the MSM had 8 years in which to demonize, slander, and outright attack GW on everything his presidency did, good or bad. It's apparent his own party fell prey to all the lies that were said and have forgotten all the good he did........
But like I've mentioned before, this site has become the feeding ground for the Republican party members (and so called conservatives) to eat their own...........
They've too self absorbed in their own perfect world and their own perfect guy that they would even rag on Jesus if he were to return and run for office because he chose to feed the masses for free without charging them....In other words, he supported the first welfare system.
Or Clintons!
Her butt is bigger than Queen Michelle’s.
Shout the truth brother!

I've seen that movie
Here we go again... Groundhog Day.
