Alan Gendreau is just another ex-college football player trying to get onto a National Football League roster.
Except for one thing: Hes openly gay.
Gendreau kicked for Middle Tennessee State from 2008-2011, and he did so exceptionally well. The all-time leading scorer in Sun Belt Conference history, the Apopka, Fla., native amassed 295 points in his career at Murfreesboro.
The 23-year-old, who has been openly gay since he was 15 years old, wasnt drafted last year and never caught on with an organization.
Hes not about to let his dream die, however. In fact, the former college star thinks hes more prepared now than ever.

Wasn’t there already a female placekicker that failed miserably?
Green Bay needs a “towel” boy....
He said “cracking”
Does he get his own locker-room?
No wonder Alex Karass said he hated having to shower with kickers.
He can also turn millions of people off...people who prefer he keeps his sexual preference quiet.
That was just a publicity stunt
“Except for one thing: Hes openly gay. “
So fagboy here will tryout wearing pumps?
So another no talent ‘kicker’ wants a try at the NFL because he is gay.......yea I can see how that will add to the game.
Just, thinking if they don’t let him play.......chaching, bet he has a lawyer already lined up.
I have no problem with this person being gay and wanting to be an NFL kicker. If he was serious about it, he would not advertise his sexuality by giving interviews to national media that focus on his homosexuality. He would do the best job he could as a kicker and would try to get hired based on ability, not his status as an “openly gay kicker.”
He looks a little like Tom Brady. (Just sayin’)
“Hes openly gay. “
Yea. WIDE openly. Not a stretch to believe him either.
He likes tight ends.
Say what you want about Jim Carrey, he more or less predicted this a long time ago with his movie Ace Ventura.
So ... does this individual’s obsessive interest in perverted sex acts improve his ability to kick a football through the goalposts? Does it improve his ability to get along with his teammates? Does it improve the teams entertainment value to its fans?
Oh wait.......that says "ROMO".
Never mind.
The MSM will be all over this story from now until the first week of the season. REAL important news. Obama is already preparing his quotes about “Folks want change in the NFL. We need change in the attitudes of professional sports organizations.” This is all meaningless distraction, away from issues that matter.
