"When people say السلام عليكم (as-salam alaykum), how would you say that as a verb? eg - "he made salaam" - here it is a verb..
so how would you put this in Arabic? "Salama"? - that sounds a bit strange..
There's the verb sallama سَـلَّم : we say سَلَّم على الناس sallama 3ala 'n-naas (he greeted the people)
And there's the verb 7ayya/yu7ayyi حَـيَّى : like 7ayya zumalaa2ahu حَيَّى زملاءه (he greeted his colleagues) "sa·laam (s-läm)
