Napolitano admits: Saudi [ABDULl RAHMAN ALI AL-HARBI] was put on watch list

All week, TheBlaze has been following up on the Saudi national who was initially investigated for several hours
before being downgraded to merely a witness and ultimately released.
Where is he now?
What did authorities find in his apartment?
These are just some of the questions remaining as the case continues to unfold.
And earlier today, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano revealed that Abdul Rahman Al-Harbi was placed on a watch list.

But today, speaking at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on immigration reform, Napolitano responded to a question by Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA).

“Before the [Tsarnaev] brothers became the focus of the investigation, authorities questioned a Saudi student who reportedly was on a terror watch list,” Grassley said.
“I sent a letter to you this morning asking for answers to questions about the bombers and how they interacted with your agency,
I trust you will promptly respond…”

“With regard to the Saudi student, was he on a watch list,
and if so, how did he obtain a student visa?” Grassley asked.

Napolitano firmly responded: “He was not on a watch list.
What happened is — this student was, really when you back it out, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
He was never a subject.
He was never even really a person of interest.
Because he was being interviewed, he was at that point put on a watch list,
and then when it was quickly determined he had nothing to do with the bombing, the watch listing status was removed.” [Emphasis added]





That’s a very different statement than what Napolitano had said when questioned about the story last week
when she told Rep. Duncan that his questions were  ”so full of misstatements and misapprehension that it’s just not worthy of an answer”.

On radio this morning, Glenn updated viewers on the latest developments this story and asked many of the outstanding questions surrounding the Saudi national:

Al Harbi is a Saudi royal, therefore he’s dipped in industrial strength teflon. The US government will put its full weight into protecting this guy at any cost.

Note that Moochelle visited him in the hospital, while she didn’t visit the American civilian who had his legs blown off in the blast. The same guy who gave investigators their first real leads into who the perps were.

And IF he messed up the arming of a bomb he was scehduled to plant? Look at where he is moments before the detonations by theChechens. He is not so close as to have his pants blown off! I suspect he set the detonator on his bomb and when he turned to leave, it only partially detonate as expected, but prematurely, sending some shrapnel into his legs and ripping his pants, so he ran. BVut of course the unJustice department will now control every shred of evidence so we the people will never know the actual truth.

What is the probability that someone who is put on the watch list, is present at a terrorist act, ends up in a hospital, gets a private visit from Moochelle and get deported to his place of origin without the benefit of a visit from the FBI?

[Excerpt] ... "The Saudi national, identified as Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, was set to be deported for terrorist activity under section 212, 3B [Alien who has engaged in Terrorist activities- ] after the Boston Marathon bombings, according to TheBlaze’s sources.
His status was abruptly changed last week,
but government officials have thus far rarely spoken in public about the subject, let alone provided any additional information.

But Napolitano’s account today confirms a report by TheBlaze on Monday.
It details how a Department of Homeland Security official told us that Alharbi was placed on a terror watchlist after being detained.

However, Napolitano has thus far refused to comment on why Alharbi was given the Section 212, 3B terrorist designation
despite inquiries from Sen. Grassley and members of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Alharbi is currently considered innocent and in no way connected to the Boston bombings, or the two brothers identified as suspects by the FBI.

It was a rough day on the hill for Napolitano as she was also grilled by lawmakers regarding the conflicting accounts
of whether the FBI knew the older Boston bombing suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, had made a trip to Russia.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) was particularly concerned about the conflicting reports coming from the FBI and DHS about the older suspect’s Russia trip.
He told Napolitano
“They told me that they had no knowledge of him leaving or coming back
so I would like to talk to you more about this case.”

Saw that yesturday while searcing out the Boston Community Mosque....

But you can put these videos smack dab in front of officials and they will not do a thing except monitor the situation because they are afraid of the backlash from Government.
