do your job, we have laws which need to be enforced not other new laws, him and others have really just said that we should accept amnesty but we’ll play along with the right and put out a few questions , much like the wasted filibuster and then he votes for the guy.

Dedgummit. We need to bring that Swiss team over here that just a referendum on immigration off the ground.The Europeans are starting to save themselves and we are imploding over here...
The reform we need is to let immigration policy be controlled by what is in the citizens’ interest first, foremost, and always.
The fact that a million people per year want to come here is no reason that a million per year should be allowed to come here. The fact that another million per year want to come in illegally is similarly not a reason to leave the border open, nor is it a reason to stop rounding them up and shipping them out when we find them.
The numbers per year who are allowed in should be determined in public discussions, based on criteria that are publicly explained, challenged, defended. Immigration policy should never be used to fine-tune wage levels or voter demographics. Immigration policy has always been made in the dark behind closed doors; you only figure out what it is after the fact and then only dimly as you decipher statistics that made purposely hard to get.
The rate is too high creating a serous problem because this population is not assimilating. Their home is too close & accessible. Our present culture and government are furthermore too accommodating as to leave theses Mexican immigrants any reason to merge with us.
Giving them citizenship won’t change this fact just as it doesn’t change this pattern of behavioral among 1st, 2nd and 3rd generations of them born in America.
Its just going to give them all that more power to impose their couture upon us.

Simple. The Democrats want to win every election in a few years, and the country club Republicans (read Chamber of Commerce) want cheap labor, and shift the hundreds of billions in the cost of immigrant welfare to the American taxpayer. We are being sold out.
