It’s too close to their base assumptions on which their ideology is built.

If they admit they’re wrong on this, its an admission that the whole way they view the world is wrong.

One of the “casualties” of losing this worldview is losing the assumption of “I’m a good person”.

If I knew your real name, I would attribute this to you, because in my opinion, this is the statement of the century.

It literally sums up almost 100 years of liberalism in the US, and why under the weight of all the evidence they aren’t willing to admit that it doesn’t work.

The Soviets never had this problem, since they never had God in the first place.

Much tougher when entire denominations of church going people vigorously support late term abortion and homosexuality.
