The two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings were not licensed to have the firearms they used in several shootouts with police on Friday, Reuters reported Sunday night.
The news that the suspects were not authorized to own firearms will likely add fuel to calls for tougher gun laws an issue that was put on the back-burner last week after the Senate blocked the central elements of a gun-control package backed by President Obama.
Because Massachusetts state law bars handgun ownership for those younger than 21, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, age 26, was the only brother who could have obtained a license from the town of Cambridge, Mass., where he lived. But he didn't take that step, Dan Riviello, spokesman for the Cambridge Police Department, told Reuters.

You mean they broke existing gun laws?
So it’s obvious... we need more laws. If we have more laws, then maybe the next group of terrorists will feel obligated to follow them.

Massachusetts state law allows residents under 21 to have rifles, but only those weapons holding 10 rounds of ammunition or less, and only then if the holder has a police-issued ID card. The guy was willing to set a bomb next to an 8 year old boy and his 6 year old sister and walk away, knowing what would happen to them. He's a murdering, maiming TERRORIST ....like he really gives a flying flip about obeying the law regarding an ID card or a weapon only holding 10 rounds or less? So let's crack down even harder on those that DO obey the law & render them defenseless while these animals are running around killing people (including armed LEOs) .... makes sense to me. /S

'Bill S-7, the Combating Terrorism Act, includes provisions that make it an offence to leave the country to participate in acts of terror.
It also grants police the powers to pre-emptively arrest someone and hold them for three days without charge, and allows for imprisonment for up to 12 months for refusing to testify before a judge in an investigative hearing.'

Actually, probably more than a parking ticket .... authorities are investigating if the older bro was involved in a triple homicide back in 2011.

There was an earlier thread about this earlier. The above quote is really nonsensical. It actually proves 2nd amendment proponents right. But the dumbasses at Reuters can't even figure that out. When they do, this will disappear down the memory hole.
