New details emerged Sunday of the accused marathon bombers' alleged theft of a sport-utility vehicle before a chaotic gunfight in the city's suburbs.

I caught that too..wonder if that’s why the won’t say who he is?
Still odd. The brothers had cars and their friends had cars (mercedes, yet)—but they had to take the chance of hijacking another car?
And they let the driver go (mistake?) —and his call to police is what got them caught?
Or, did they meet with a contact who gave them a car and cash, and then deliberately phoned police to turn them in—thinking that they wouldn’t be taken alive, or would commit suicide if cornered?
Is that the way a terror cell operates—to protect itself?
The bombers are the lowest men on the ladder, they are expendable. Get a couple of low-level dupes to plant the bombs, then break the link in the chain (remove them) and the cell can continue to operate?
Don’t know. But maybe worth looking into
(I’m sure the FBI will get around to it right after they finish checking if they had permits for their guns,
and permits to stay in the USA, and were not being sought by foreign governments, and where they got their money from,
and if they were in the drug trade, and what the “terrorista” plate meant...)
“The brothers told the driver they wouldn’t kill him because he wasn’t an American.”
I hadn’t heard that but when I heard they let him live it crossed my mind that it was something like that.
I find it ironic that a muslim terrorist is being treated at the Beth Israel Medical Center. I hope the authorities are making sure he knows who’s saving his life.
I think the purpose of the car jacking was to drain the victim’s bank account. So the stealing of the car was secondary.
And, they may have feared that their own cars would have been identified.
And - some reports on the gun battle in watertown list the brothers as driving two vehicles - the hijacked SUV, and a Honda sedan, which may have been their car.
Come on, people. My bet is the “victim” is one of them, most likely another Saudi.
Their handler with the burned hands was in the hospital/custody. They had to call another in for help. They drive around a while pleading that they need a car, but he can’t just give it to them without implicating himself. Thus, the “car jacking”.
What I loved best was the Coexist bumper sticker on the car.
Perfect touch in the video of the shoot-out.
If a carjacker were to jump into your car and say, "I won't kill you because you are not an American" -- would you correct them and declare your patriotism?
Love of country and love of God are not the same thing, but our Founders pledged their lives, their honor and their fortunes to give us this country. How quickly would we declare, "American? Me? Ha! I voted for Obama, man!"
I’m wondering if he has a Middle Eastern name.
Yes, Interesting that they took him to Beth Israel. Maybe that hospital has the best security?
Earlier bombing victims were taken - according to the MSM - to five other hospitals. They never mentioned taking anyone to Beth Israel which is odd because it is known for having a good ER. Maybe it’s not a high level trauma center. But if it’s not then why did they take the 2nd bomber there?
Probably so. Notice on the map that they were driving all over as if they were making specific stops rather than getting the heck outta Dodge as quick as possible. It's been speculated little brother deliberately ran over his brother rather than have him taken into custody and then attempted suicide in the boat.
We have a winner!
I think a "smart" Christian says "no". But a faithful one says "Yes".
I didn’t realize it really had a Coexist bumper sticker. Did you see it? I thought that was an internet joke. That *is* funny.
It’s not smart to be faithless.
Gosh, I remember when I was a college student and could only afford a Mercedes...

“Yes, Interesting that they took him to Beth Israel.”
he was in pretty bad shape, it might have been the closest one to where he was captured.
