Maureen Dowd: President Obama is No Bully in the Pulpit

THE graying man flashing fury in the Rose Garden on behalf of the Newtown families, the grieving man wiping away tears after speaking at the Boston memorial service, is not the same man who glided into office four years ago.
...he still has not learned how to govern.
How is it that the president won the argument on gun safety with the public and lost the vote in the Senate? Its because he doesnt know how to work the system. And its clear now that he doesnt want to learn, or to even hire some clever people who can tell him how to do it or do it for him.
..Even House Republicans who had no intention of voting for the gun bill marveled privately that the president could not muster 60 votes in a Senate that his party controls.
..The White House had a defeatist mantra: This is tough. We need to do it. But were probably going to lose.
When you go into a fight saying youre probably going to lose, youre probably going to lose.
The president once more delegated to the vice president. Couldnt he have come to the Hill himself to lobby with the families and Joe Biden?

Someone needs to tell Ms. Dowd that Obama didn’t win the argument for gun control with the public. Figments of the imagination running rampant.

Miracolo? Dowd is disenchanted with Obozo....Hardly.
All she's doing here is stamping her feet in disappointment and trying to coach her hero, give him sage advice, etc..
Heck, she even has to lie to herself:
"...the president won the argument on gun safety with the public and lost the vote in the Senate."

It's like listening to an old, washed-up spinster aunt talk about her mildly retarded, idiot-savant disturbed nephew and what could have been if only the mother hadn't drank like a fish and shot-up heroin for 9 months.

Exactly! When Obama kept throwing out the "90% want gun control" figure I just wanted to scream.
I don't think there are very many issues that 90% of Americans agree on to begin with, let alone on guns.
Hell, I'd wager that if you asked a random sample of US citizens if they think that America is the greatest country on earth, probably 30% would say no.

The real poll is that only 4% thought gun control was a major issue.

Ah, Mo, saint Biden said no big deal about what Congress does or does not do. “THE graying man” will execute gun control. And everybody knows the GOP-e are as stale and molded as a week old loaf of bread. Why some of the Republicans have gone full bore liberal, forming gangs to bully US into their hearts desires.

First of all, Americans are not going to disarm because some want to be dictator says so. Some of us older folks have read some history that says that it is not a good idea. A lot of Germany, etc. did that and many got dead as a result. And they disarmed them for “safety”,
