Alex Conant @AlexConant: "We haven't had a cohort of people living permanently in US without full rights of citizenship since slavery".
Mind you, he isnt talking only about illegal immigrants. Hes talking about any non-citizen who lives in this country permanently, including millions of Green Card holders.
And by implication:
Conn Carroll @conncarroll: For those of you keeping score at home, Rubio spokesman @AlexConant just compared all Schumer-Rubio opponents to slave owners
If this is Team Rubios strategy for winning over conservatives, good luck with that.

I kept the door called ‘benefit-of-the-doubt’ open for him as long as I could. This statement reveals what is really going on in his camp behind the scenes. Same ole same ole Shamnesty. It’s time for us tax-slaves to revolt against this charade.
If we indeed do a “March on D.C.”, we need to start with the Republicans.
...Sigh...
This is just stupidity. Rubio has gone stupid on this. I do agree that when people support illegal immigrants so they can get low wage labor then it smacks of slavery but more so it is thievery because the low wage illegal immigrant ends up with the tax payer paying for him and his family many times as if he isn’t working at all when the money is dealt in cash. So these companies that are benefiting from low wage illegal immigrants are in a sense stealing from those companies who play by the rules and don’t hire illegals and no matter how inexpensive your lettuce or strawberries are I’m sure the cost to tax payers in illegal immigration health and human services far exceeds the benefit.
True or false, you sit home during primary campaigns? When getting a hundred more voters might actually mean a lot?
My Canadian GF who is a green card holder is more patriotic than any Dem or liberal you can think of.
By 1000 times. I’m ex-canadian myself. She is past the 3 year mark which makes eligible but she told me the way the country is headed, it might not be a good idea. I mean, when she went to the DMV here in L.A
she was asked “English, Spanish, Chinese.” in reference to the written test. I mean, WTF. In Canada, they just hand you the test and if you can’t read English or French, FU. take the bus.
I hate to say it but that’s kind of a tough one. Canada’s not so bad. It’s not like she’s trying to get out of Red China or Venezuela or something. If she stays Canadian maybe that would give you both a bugout destination where you’ll be legally accepted. I can’t believe I’m not saying “jump on that U.S. citizenship.”
Rubio is losing me day by day as a supporter over this issue. Really don’t trust his judgment at this point.
Smart girl you got there. When TSHTF (and it will) you guys would be better off up north. I’m retiring way up in northern New England. I’ve got no interest in living out the last years of my life anywhere near big cities.
“Canadas not so bad.”
When I came here, I cried because I can’t believe you can buy beer and liquor at 7-11 or any store. I almost did. In Canada, the booze is controlled by the govt and booze is ONLY sold at govt-run stores, i kid you not.
and so’s the healthcare. If you do not pay your monthly premium’s, you either go to collections, jail or credit history destroyed. Can’t believe that socialist healthcare followed me here..
False.
I can’t believe it either. I think I’ll go to jail. Or something.
