The two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings were not licensed to have the firearms they used in several shootouts with police on Friday, Reuters reported Sunday night.
The news that the suspects were not authorized to own firearms will likely add fuel to calls for tougher gun laws – an issue that was put on the back-burner last week after the Senate blocked the central elements of President Obama's gun-control package.
Police say Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and his 19-year-old brother, Dzhokhar, went on a deadly shooting spree Thursday and Friday, killing a university policeman before confronting local officers in a wild firefight in the middle of a Watertown, Mass., street that left the elder brother dead and a transit policeman injured.

Well that makes sense. It only follows that if they didn't obey a couple of dozen laws, another buch od laws will be what does the trick.

Duh! How many criminals, or people with criminal intent, will leave the bread crumb trail of legally registering their guns, or any kind of legal action? Start with Chicago and go on to any other american city.
I does my heart to know that the little scumbag couldn’t even commit suicide properly. He put the gun in his mouth, but only succeeded in making a painful airhole.
Now he will be subject to enhanced interrogation, before they finally get around to finishing him off.
I do regret that the bleeding hearts and lawyers will keep him alive as long as they can, though.

Naturally, the new gun control laws being proposed to “stop the violence” will ask such questions as “Are you a Muslim?” and “Do you intend to commit terrorist acts?”

Along with determining that the suspects had made at least five pipe bombs, the authorities recovered four firearms that they believe the suspects used, according to a law enforcement official. The authorities found an M-4 carbine rifle — a weapon similar to ones used by American forces in Afghanistan — on the boat where the younger suspect was found Friday night in Watertown, Mass., 10 miles west of Boston.
