Four reasons why the Boston bombing is more shocking than you think
Rare.US ^ | April 21, 2013 | Jim Robbins

Rather than what was hoped – that this was an isolated, spontaneous and inexplicable act by two troubled young men – it appears that the Boston bombing was part of a long term, well planned, large scale effort by Islamic terrorists with foreign ties to bring jihad to U.S. soil. And if the plot was that extensive, the two most important questions now are, how did the U.S. government fail to detect it, and what else do terrorists have planned for this country that we don’t know about?

I hope you learned something about this, Beaver!

I did Dad!

What’s that Beaver?

Well Dad, I learned that Police States just don’t work. No matter how many security agents may be in an area, and no matter how much technology there is, if someone wants to blow you up, they can, and they will. Especially if they pen a whole bunch of people into a small area. We might as well have our freedom after all!

Nah, he’ll blame it on sequestration.

The danger from kook white supremacists is miniscule compared to the danger of Moslems. Microscopic. Additionally, there is zero support for white supremacy in the fedgv, exactly opposite to the major support of Islam currently in the fedgov.

Sheesh. Comparing a pin prick to a bunker buster.

Now with the floodgates open, many might think muslims are a rarity in the US, sadly, we may know differently. ;)

Sarah Palin.

I hate to say it, given what they have already put her through; but that's the only name that leapt to my mind. She has balls like Thatcher.

So, you are telling me you all want me to be the mahdi?

A caliph is very different from the mahdi.

The caliph is the Successor of the Prophet. He exercises supreme religious and secular power over the Muslim people (umma). He is in theory to be selected by the umma. He is admitted to be only a man, and does not have any direct line to God. Since Mo was the last of the prophets, the caliph cannot produce any new revelations.

The mahdi is the Muslim equivalent of the returning Messiah. He is a supernatural figure.

Right.

I always think of the snake lines to go through security at airports. A terrorist could wheel a really large bomb into the line, then blow it up when he reached the center.

All the lines set up to go through “security” anywhere just make a lovely new target.

Just two young men in ONE city.

Multiply by a factor of at least a thousand.

Every single large city in every single state, some staes obviously will have a higher concentration of Islamic students, mostly blue states. Gun restrictive states.

I also seriously doubt they will attack in a very conservative high redneck armed civilian area, nope, they will target the most bluest of states with the highest percentage of liberals and gun laws, easy in, easy to blend in and less chances of being shot and killed by a concealed carrying citizen.

A source close to the investigation said: “We have no doubt the brothers were not acting alone. The devices used to detonate the two bombs were highly sophisticated and not the kind of thing people learn from Google. “They were too advanced. Someone gave the brothers the skills and it is now our job to find out just who they were. Agents think the sleeper cell has up to a dozen members and has been waiting several years for their day to come.”

One key point here was pretty effectively debunked by another Freeper (maybe even earlier on this thread). These were not sophisticated bombs, according to this Freeper who claimed to be an electrical engineer. That reinforced something that I had suspected from the beginning. And now, nearly a week later, these bombs look like something a few of my middle-school classmates could have built -- even without any help from their parents, let alone a group of terrorists.

This Freeper seems to think the person(s) who built these bombs: (1) put themselves at great risk with the RC-controlled detonators, and (2) didn't seem to know exactly what they were building.

Document that assertion, please.

Why? You can do it all by yourself. Here's how: simply go to Google and type in the words "home-grown terrorism."

I suspect urban/suburban areas wouldn't be that different in different parts of the country if there was a real crisis outside.

Yeah, you're probably right. I just hope it'll be easy to distinguish between a real crisis and one that is manufactured.

<< Optional - a “shelter in place request” >>

Ok. Thanks for the answer. I’m still a little concerned that, at least in some cases, people were dragged out of their homes at gunpoint. Some of these LE guys got a little pushy with these people, unless there’s something I don’t know about the occupants.

That doesn’t hold up. The msm have obviously been downplaying that angle now that they’re Muslim. The “homegrown terrorist” term only began showing up the last couple of days, almost like a talking point.

This is a tactic designed to capitalize on the tragedy.

I disagree its the Media; I think it’s this administration.
