Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) discusses gun control and background checks with Geraldo Rivera on his radio show and takes calls from listeners.
PAUL: This grief is just an unbearable burden. I think people are politicizing and trying to take advantage. Politicians are taking advantage of peoples' grief. And it makes me even sadder to see, gosh this person lost their five year old son, their six year old son, and they're being put as pawns in the middle of a political debate that's been going on for years. And really, one of the the only ways I can think of o stop these shootings is to announce tomorrow that there wont be gun-free zones in schools.

As usual Geraldo misses the point and gets schooled!
To: JohnPDuncan
We should use the term ‘gun free target zones’.

Anyone notice that when the FBI checked the tip on the elder brother, he got a BACKGROUND CHECK?

The guy who ambushed firemen on Christmas should have never left prison after beating his own grandmother to death with a hammer.
That shouldn’t be a tough determination about who is and isn’t dangerous.

The way to end gun-free zones is to end those who call for gun-free zones. Find out who they are and kick their a$$es. Poof! Gun-free zones end.

- ...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said. [Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften [immigration, gay marriage] stance]
- One day after announcing on his radio show that he is "truly considering" running in 2014 for the U.S. Senate seat now held by New Jersey's Frank Lautenberg, Rivera amped up his message today in a television interview and a column on the Fox News Latino website... a moderate Republican who is fiscally conservative but also supports gay marriage and Roe v. Wade... [Geraldo Rivera declares himself a 'moderate Republican' as he eyes U.S. Senate run]

Yes. He is almost the perfect candidate, except for that glaring imperfection.

He wants the border closed and an end to freebies for illegals.
That’s a better stance than even Reagan took.

(The MSM must die for the Republic to live. Long live the new media!)
To: Dead Corpse
If that’s true why is he so receptive to the recent gang of ocho proposal?
Look, I like Rand Paul. In fact, he is my pick for Pres right now. But, I have heard some bad things about his positions on immigration — essentially he favors the path to citizenship which I emphatically oppose.
Yes. Reagan, no matter how decent a President he was on many issues (he was also very bad on spending), was not good on immigration. Really bad that he agreed to the last amnesty. However, at that time, immigration was a much smaller problem than it it is now. That is something, I am afraid, Reagan’s amnesty actually exacerbated.
