Holding my breath for the new yorker to publish the thoughts of his victims.
I dare the author to say this to Bill Richard’s face, or Krystal Campbell’s mother’s face, or Linzu Hu’s mother’s face..I dare him to even try
Is anyone expecting anything else? In a few days MSNBC will be asking for donations for the guy’s defense team...after all, his bombs were merely an inarticulate response to the meanness that is America.
These people are so predictable.
I’ll have to take your word for it. I’m not touching them with a ten foot pole.
Perhaps my understanding of the English language is not what it used to be, but I read the entire article and saw absolutely no sympathy for the bombers. It does however express some sympathy for their parents, recognizing that the parents appear to be as incredulous as everyone else who knew these guys.
In no way does the article attempt to paint the bombers as victims. But then perhaps the article you linked to is not the one you intended to reference.
Islamic terrorists are NOT victims!!
Oh crud. You mean we have to actually READ the article to see what’s in it ?
While getting ready for work I heard this exchange between pundants over the news concerning these two:
“We didn’t make not being radical enough”.....(blaming us for they’re behavior.)
Response was...”We need to pull them back by telling them why our families are American”.
I just about crapped my pants! What a ridiculous choice of words..and the idea this will stop radicalization of young men and woman. Fools!
I agree. I actually thought the article provided nice background.
Needs repeating again and again!
...”Islamic terrorists are NOT victims!!”...
-Jim Robinson-
Thank you!!!!
The article paints the Chechen people and specifically this one family as victims. Hell the father himself has already threatened there’d be hell to pay if his “angelic” terrorist, er, kid was killed. No, they are NOT victims!!
Sorry JR, I have to respectfully disagree. I can see the family as victims of their son’s behavior and dad’s “all hell will break loose comment” could be just the macho ramblings of a bereaved parent. In now way am I defending the brothers and, IMHO, the article did not paint the brothers as victims.
I am thinking more of what their uncle said rather than the dad and the incoherent aunt. Uncle said they have “brought a shame on the family” and a shame on Chechens.
Based on the author’s premise one would expect a lot of other ethnicities to be setting off bombs, yet we don’t see Ukranians blowing up schools, or Tibetans storming ballet performances.

I agree with your sentiment.
