Mrs L packing a 44 Mag ? I love her !....:o)
My niece packs a Charter Arms Bulldog Pug in 44 special ! She loves it, her CHL rig. I like to carry my 329PD when wheeling on the ATV’s ect as I carry it stuffed with 240gr JHP’s from buffalo bore for mountian kittiy cats and yogi but keep a few speed loaders full of 44 special for plinking.
Love the 44 special. Even own a SW 696 in 44 special ... Great all round caliber IMO.
BTW .... Snag some sabots from shotgun news adds. I can make .224 projectiles in my Corbin press from old .22 rimfire case and scrap lead. When I use a 30 cal sabot stuffed with my Corbin home rolled bullets it lets me use my 30 calibers be it bolt or magazine. Ran em thru a few of my rifles with great success if all ya can find is .224 diameters.
Also ya may want to try the .380 spares in yer nine if ya have one, both diameters are in .355 range, just 380 is less than 105 grains and 9mm is more than 105 grains.... Maybe ...might be useful ... Wouldn’t try 9’s Ina 380 though. But 380 bullets in a 9mm might be a paper punching load.
Off to run errands.,. Stay safe !
Believe it or not I don’t own a 9mm, either.
Mrs. L has two 44’s. (No jokes here, pal!) one is a 629 with a 6 inch barell. The other is a Taurus in .44 spl, titanium in blue. I picked up an old Charter Arms in .44 spl for $100 a few years back. I load the Spl rounds so they’re just about equivalent to a .45 ACP. 230 grain JHP moving at about 900 fps. That’s really an under rated personal defense cartridge IMO.
BTW if you’ve got a .40 cal I found a big pile of once fired cases I have no use for. Don’t own a .40. I’d be happy to ship them your way if you’d like. I’m pretty sure there is a couple of hundred at least in there. I could use the room in my closet. Otherwise I’ll toss them on one of the auction sites or something.
Best to you and yours,
L
