Sen. Marco Rubio (R.-Fla.), one of eight senators who have crafted legislation that would put illegal aliens on a path to U.S. citizenship, explained in a Senate floor speech yesterday that one of the reasons he wants to do this is that he believes illegal aliens are currently driving on U.S. roads without drivers licenses and auto insurance and his bill would encourage them to get licenses and buy insurance.
Rubio explained that under his bill, ilegal aliens who have committed serious crimes will be deported. However, the proposal will apparently not deem as a serious crime the habit of routinely driving without a driver's license.

For what ever reason I saw through this guy right off the bat. It appears that his main qualification for office is race and race determines his positions. Goodbye marco.
the assumption here is that you need a government approved driver license to be a competent driver
Thinking of having working taxpayers pay for driving lessons too?
When Rush interviewed him he said we needed new laws because the current ones are not being enforced - and Rush didn’t not ask him the obvious follow up - “What makes you think they’ll enforce the new ones?”
He also said that many illegals are people that overstayed their visas. Again Rush failed to ask him the obvious question - there are already laws that make it illegal to overstay your visa, why not enforce them?
That was a really disappointing interview by Rush.
These criminal illegal aliens should have all property seized, then jailed and deported back to their loser countries. It can be done.
Thank you. On more and more important issues GOP is infiltrated, not just the border issues. I heard Geraldo say the other night that he is considering running for office (senate?) as a Republican. I laughed, then hubby just had to remind me how many liberals already serve with an R by their name.
Frankly I resent the lies of the government pretending anyone stridently against illegal aliens are “racists” against poor Mexican crop pickers.
Seal the borders, enforce the laws, set a $50.00 bounty on illegals of all types, and many problems are solved in two years or less.
Crime and unemployment are drastically reduced, wages rise, and corruption levels fall in every government and private agency.
Citizens might even be able to afford to go to a Doctor without massive government intervention!
Rubio, and his new friends will never go along with any of that.
Nor will any of our elected or appointed “leaders”.
Let the USA Spring begin!
I don’t trust any of these fools that do things in secret. They only do things in secret from us; not each other.
Savage calls Rubio, The Ice Cream Man. Spot on. He’s more of the same.
In California, illegal alien can buy car insurance.
I know a lot of people who HAVE A DRIVER’S LICENSE but still drive around without auto insurance. His logic is flawed. Really bad.
Rubio is sure EXCITED about Legalizing all of these Hispanics......who happen to vote DEMOCRAT....WHY?? Hispanic blood??
I'm now suffering with a wonderful case of TB thanks to some undocumented shopper that came into the thrift store I worked in. I'd rather have them screened for this kind of crap than worry about them driving on the road.
In 2008 illegal alien Sergio Ornofre was convicted of killing 14 year old Daniel Turner after Ornofre dragged Turner under a stolen car for nearly a quarter of a mile.
Ornofre was driving on a suspended license which was the final straw that drove Michigan to firmly deny illegal aliens driver’s licenses.
How much do you ask? I sent an on-line letter to Rubio's office yesterday followed up by a call to the Jacksonville Office. I let them know that after seeing him and meeting him at Lake City in early June of 2009 I was an automatic contributor each month to his campaign, Follow that by keeping it going to his PAC after he won the seat.
I let them know it was the grassroots that got him there and he has lost this one forever after that Rush interview. Keeping in mind the interview he did with him just this past January when he said he would not do what he is now proposing. I will endeavor to find someone who is again preaching Reagan principles, support that person the same way I worked to get Marco elected and let the primary process be Rubio's worst nightmare when it was his greatest achievement.
Current names? Allen West, Sandy Adams.
They were both hard hitters in their only terms and both were sacrificed on the block of redistricting here because the GOPe had to get rid of them. They were mucking up the works of the go along to get along establishment. Then we jut last week learned it was definitely the Democrat Party that got what they wanted in the redraw despite huge Republican majorities in both the House and the Senate along with the Governor's Office of Florida.
This goes to prove we do not have a two Party system, it is just a single body like the NFL or SEC with the serfs being lined up to support either the Dolphins or the Jaguars for the NFL and the Seminoles and the Gators for the SEC.
Big government is analogical to Big Sports. The whole idea is for everyone to choose one side or the other but still the only winners are at the top.
The only answer is to starve the beast and that means not to feed either head of this two headed monster. I will keep my registration as Republican for the time being as only a way to have an outside chance to get the Party back, but I will not vote ever again for anyone who shows any inkling of a GOPe or RINO bent.
See, it is so bad down here that I keep forgetting the Seminoles are NOT in the SEC. The Substitute Bulldogs.
1. Marco Rubio - "I guess securing the border isn't a dealbreaker. I'll go with amnesty."
2. Pat Toomey - "I gave gun control my best shot." As Toomey tried to save the Obama gun control agenda.
Both of these so-called new republicans have just destroyed any chance at higher office.
GOP Delenda Est.
They are breaking the law, so legalize it?
They are raping little girls too....
Identity theft....
