According to Wikipedeia: "Funk is a music genre that originated in the mid-late 1960s when African American musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of soul music, jazz, and R&B. Funk de-emphasizes melody and harmony and brings a strong rhythmic groove of electric bass and drums to the foreground. Funk songs are often based on an extended vamp on a single chord, distinguishing it from R&B and soul songs, which are built on chord progressions."
Got it? That foolishness goes on for over 5,000 words trying to put Funk into words. It's not a bad attempt and it's an interesting read, but I was reminded of a Luciano Pavarotti quote: "Learning music by reading about it is like making love by mail."
Anyhow, it got me thinking. All Funk has soul, but not all Soul is Funk. You can't put Funk into words, buckaroos, but I know it when I hear it. So just listen and we'll get funky.

This week has been a horrible roller-coaster ride for the residents of Boston and all across the USA. Greetings & Salutations to the Boys in Blue that tracked down and took out the anti-American garbage hidden amongst them. We send prayers of healing and strength to the many victims of these foreign born jihadi sewer rats.

The Teeny Boppers dominated the AM charts, and this tune was one of the harder edged teen tunes of the period. It came in at #7.

Good evening, Kathy!
*HUGS*
The commute went reasonably well - we had a line squall go through the area while I was driving home - extremely heavy rain and we're just now getting off tornado watch.
The daffodils are pretty much over now - irises will be in bloom very soon. My Azalea, which is the only plant that was here when we arrived 24 years ago, did not make it through the winter. I think I'll replace it with a variegated Japanese Andromeda.
I'm cashing it in real soon - very fatigued this evening.
