As a father, I have to say I can sympathize and if he is in denial. I can see how that could happen.

Most parents deny that their children have turned into monsters. Wouldn’t you? You gave your kids your unconditional love...how could you help but deny what happened to them?

I’m not sure what anyone expects a father to say. The uncle on the other hand sounds like a patriot. What he said about his own blood took true conviction and dedication to law, order, and country.
