My wife watches news from South Korea. They report the news very differently then we hear in the news. They report that the US Govt knew of a threat before the marathon and they knew where the threat was from.
Sounds like they think its a much larger threat then we are being told.
To have the National Guard from New York there at the marathon, the governor of MA had to request them to be there, and that wouldn’t make sense for a drill, like everybody was told the security was about. Drills would be organized through the military, I presume - not by the governor. And drills would be at a simulated event, not a real one.
News reports claimed that request was made last Friday. The public needs to see that request.
Then why didn’t they have security points set up checking backpacks, strollers, other bags for people entering the main seating/staging areas? With that many security personnel all over the places, it seems to me that would have been the prudent thing to do.
